After 5 trips to other mechanics, with an intermittent squealing noise emitting from my 2011 XC60 turbo, Phil Bishop diagnosed and eliminated the problem, with a very cost effective fix. He literally saved me three grand! Phil is a very professional, down to earth man, with a love and knowledge of Volvos, that is only exceeded by his excellent and reasonably service.

Phil Bishop at this shop constantly says things that promote violence online. Absolutely strange. Picture included is one of many comments made about the attempt on trumps life.

I took my 2015 Volvo in for service today after not enjoying my treatment at the local dealer. The service was prompt, complete, and reasonably priced. Very happy that I discovered such a good shop!

Gotta love a Volvo Specific shop that doesnt charge volvo specific labour (overpriced dealerships are awful)Great mechanics, always ask for Phil or Dwaine!

Phil did a great job when I was in a pinch. I was in Pickering for a basketball tourney when the alternator died on my 2014 Volvo XC70. On a whim and a prayer, I left it in Phil's parking lot and called him next morning to have him look to see if he could fix it. To my surprise, he had the alternator replaced by end of day and charged what I consider to be a very fair rate. I had never met Phil before and live 1.5 hours outside Pickering, so I had no idea how this would go. If you are looking for an honest and professional mechanic, look no further! Thanks PhilService: General repairs & maintenance

Took my 2009 C30 for a timing belt change back in Nov 2020. Great job was what as expected. What was not expected was I had an OBDII code show up shortly there after, indicating low engine temperature. Looked it up on the net and that usually means the thermostat needs to be replace. With none critical work such as a thermostat as compared to critical work as a timing belt, I decided to to it myself. I waited till the weather was right and I had the time to do it. I did it a few days ago. I was surprised how easily the rad hose came off the thermostat housing. Normally a rad hose fuses on to the housing and requires a bit of twisting to remove it. Then I unscrewed the housing and again that came off very easily. Just fell off. Normally it requires a bit of force to pry it off.Did they put in a faulty thermostat while they were doing the timing belt? I cannot tell for sure, but the hose coming off easily, the housing coming off easily and the code being tripped shortly after they serviced it looks a bit telling. I will not go back there again. I trust Volvo service from the dealer. never had a problem with the dealer. Thought I would give these guys a try and perhaps save a few bucks. Wish it turned out different.Service: Engine repair
