“I am lucky to see this great store and meet the owner while I visited Pickering on 28 October, 2023. Al Madina Super Market is considered as one of the finest places (Retail Chain Store) for grocery in Pickering. Md Kamrul Islam, the proprietor, has good knowledge on business and customer service. It has good collection of grocery items, meaning that you can find all in one place, especially meats, fishes, vegetables and other daily commodities. The environment of this store is pretty good, and the behavior of all staffs here is mind blowing. I appreciate good services and wish the best of luck with more excellent services for people.?❤️”
“First time visiting Food City and I was so impressed with staff being so helpful and also the layout and organization of the grocer was very well done.Various items catering to both East & West Indian customers which is great for the Pickering area.Fresh produce, fresh meats and seafood, so many different types of snacks, both ready to eat and available to make at home.There are so many different types of curry powders available also.It was nice to see many options of Soya (vegan options) both plain and flavored. I have never seen such a large selection like this before.”

“They have a lot of the basics but they need to watch the flies, especially in the guinep bag. All of them needed to be thrown out. Nice to see they had plums but they were all green.They have most of what you need though.”

“Khawar super market best one for Afghan and Iran meat and bread and all groceries. If looking for Halal that's here.
Super East is the best shopping center for Afghans and Iranians in Pickering, which has unique Berber bread.
It also has halal meat and other halal foods.
They are very kind and friendly.”

“I really apppreciate this location’s choice to keep employing cashiers, rather than switching to automatic checkout. There’s the obvious reason: Keeping jobs in our community is important. It’s more than that though. This Freshco’s cashiers are wonderful, friendly, positive people to deal with. Every time I am there, I see positive interactions between customers and cashiers. The weekend early morning shift seems to be on a first name basis with many regular
shoppers, and will ask them questions about how their special meal turned out, or how they enjoyed their vacation. Even the more hectic shifts, though, the cashiers engage with customers, leading to conversations that often spread to other people in line.
I really think that sort of thing has value in a community, and I appreciate that this store has maintained it.”
“This is a busy location due to its proximity to Go Train, Highway Exit, downtown Pickering and the highway 2 corridor. Some people have been going here for decades. Min 1 hour if you are dropping by from hospital or doc office. This means if the prescription has an error there will be a delay. All the people are very professional. If you are polite, they are polite back. Best to call earlier in order to get prescriptions filled if faxed. For meds that need scheduling you can ask about availability and order times in order to determine when to call to fill. This location is great because you can call in the prescription. And if it is not busy, get suggestions on OTC medicine for conditions you are not familiar with.”
