My husband and I had an incredible weekend at Kevin and Cathy’s lovely inn in August. Cannot rave enough about both of them and the idyllic inn and island. Stayed in a beautiful renovated queen room with ensuite. Rode our bikes everywhere incl daily to the winery. Cathy’s breakfast was amazing. Hanging out with other guests on the porch and around the fire had a lovely community feel. Can’t wait to return.

Our first trip to Peelee island and was so ecstatic that we found the Wandering Dog Inn as a place to stay, truly a hidden gem. Kevin and and Cathy were such genuine and gracious hosts, always available and just nice to chat with. The pictures on the internet do not do justice to this b&b. The rooms were spacious incredibly comfortable, clean and with all the little touches that made the stay amazing. Porches are screened in and there are so many places to gather with friends, old and new. The continental+ breakfast was AMAZING and kept us satisfied well into the afternoon. Kevin also knows all the best on the island, where to visit,where to avoid, who had the best burgers, best fries...Their hospitality will certainly have us returning with friends.Just got home and already missing it.

Kevin and Kathy are such wonderful hosts! They do a great job of creating a laid back atmosphere that is welcoming to all guests. They both go above and beyond for guest comfort are just overall down to earth people. From the minute we arrived, we felt like we belonged there - settling into our room just felt natural and easy.We stayed in one of the private suites that is detached from the main house. Everything about the suite was perfect, apart from some ants that got into some packaged food that we left out. Definitely have some good, sealed containers if you plan on bringing snacks. Kathy did such an excellent job at providing a hearty home-cooked breakfast every morning, so you shouldn't find yourself needing to bring many snacks for between meals.The property is a quick walk from the beach. If long, romantic walks on the beach are your thing, then look no further. We'd take walks before unwinding at the end of the day either on the porch or around a fire that Kevin would build.In our downtime, we found ourselves relaxing in the hammock on our screened in porch, or lounging on some of the furniture on the bottom floor of the main house (where the air conditioning is most powerful). No Wi-Fi, so don't expect to be able to read your boss's emails or Buzzfeed articles while you're here. We all had no LTE coverage too and weren't able to make any phone calls. I believe there is a phone at the main desk, however.Overall I'd recommend Wandering Dog to anyone looking for a getaway from the commotion of every day life. It's a great place to relax, unwind, and make new connections. We can't wait to visit again!P.S. for folks with dietary restrictions - Don't be like me and forget to notify Kathy of any food allergies prior to arrival so that she can plan breakfast accordingly!

We had a 2 night stay in the King suite at the Inn the week of August 21st and was so impressed. Beautiful property, tasteful renovation, comfortable bed, enclosed verandah where continental breakfast served daily. Very yummy treats - eggs, cheesy eggs, muffins, pastries, fresh fruit, coffee, many kinds of bread for roasting. Super helpful hosts Cathy and Kevin made us feel right at home. There was a big storm overnight during the week and the power went out temporarily with rain soaking throughout the island but Cathy still managed to organize a great breakfast! Super clean property. Air conditioned rooms. Great location including a 5 minute walk to a fabulous beach. We can’t wait to go back might even take up birdwatching!

Perfect 2 night getaway !! We finally got to Pelee Island and we couldn't be more pleased. The Wandering Dog Inn (which sadly had no wandering dogs while we were there ?) was exactly what we hoped for and the reviews are spot on. Perfect in every way. Inn Keepers Kevin & Cathy take great pride in their Inn. Their hospitality is amazing. The island is charming, quiet and provided the perfect backdrop to a wonderful stay. Can't wait to come back.** Hope that ace of spades didn't find its way into Miss Muskoka's luggage ?

Kevin and Cathy run a wonderful inn. The service, the breakfast food and the cleanliness of the rooms show pride in ownership. With very little cell signal on this part of the island, relaxation comes easy. We really enjoyed the bonfire every night, the reading room in the main part of the hotel, reading in the gazebo and breakfast every morning. The public beach is a 5 minute walk away.

My sister and I just returned from staying at this Inn, and I can’t say enough great things about it in this space! From the hosts that were AWESOME, to the delicious breakfast that was served daily, to the cleanliness and quaintness of this place, it all gets 5 stars! We have already decided that this will be an annual trip for us now, and I cannot wait to return! Do yourself a favour and stay at the Wandering Dog, you won’t be disappointed!

On my first trip to Pelee Island I stayed at The Wandering Dog Inn over the Canada Day long weekend. It is run by Cathy and Kevin. They are warm, friendly, helpful, accommodating, and attentive. They instantly made me feel like we were friends who have not seen each other in awhile.I stayed in the green room. Which was the right size for me. The room was tidy, clean, and breezy as the ceiling fan was on to welcome me in. My trip to Pelee island was made better and was more memorable because everything that Cathy and Kevin have done at the Wandering Dog Inn! Thank you for the good times and great memories!

Our first trip to Peele Island was an absolute dream, and The Wandering Dog Inn made it unforgettable. The quaint charm of the inn, coupled with the chill island vibes, made for the best getaway ever. Our hosts, Cathy and Kevin made us feel right at home. The and cozy room, the great breakfasts and the short walk to the beaches made it the perfect escape for us.. We'll be back!

What a lovely “haven” Kevin and Cathy Miller have created! I am an original Islander and went back recently after a 20 year absence and am so glad that I stayed at the Wandering Dog Inn! Rustic in feel with newer amenities! It is a beautiful Inn with fantastic hosts! I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Island!Rooms: Nicely appointed rooms, comfy beds, up to date bathrooms.

Our recent stay at The Wandering Dog Inn on Pelee Island, owned by the amazing couple Cathy and Kevin, exceeded our expectations in every way. As travelers who seek out unique and offbeat destinations, we chose Pelee Island for our getaway. The decision to book The Wandering Dog Inn turned out to be a fantastic one.From the moment we arrived, Kevin warmly welcomed us and gave us a tour of the property. The serene surroundings, nestled among trees, provided a tranquil ambiance that immediately put us at ease. Our 3-month-old golden retriever puppy, Max, was equally thrilled with the freedom to roam and play off-leash on the lush green grass.The rooms at The Wandering Dog Inn were impeccably clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. Cathy and Kevin's attention to detail was evident, and it contributed to the overall charm and comfort of our stay.In the morning, we had the pleasure of meeting Cathy during breakfast. Her delightful and friendly nature added an extra touch of warmth to our experience. We had a wonderful stay at The Wandering Dog Inn and Cathy and Kevin are the perfect hosts. The location is perfect being so close to the water and the inn is extremely cozy. I could have sat in the front porch all day watching the birds. Our room was freshly renovated and bright. Cathy’s breakfasts were delicious and filling. A wonderful place to escape the world and explore the island. Looking forward to returning soon.Kira

My husband and I had a fabulous 2-night stay in the double queen suite. Comfortable and roomy with lots of space to put your things. Screened porch with table and chairs and a hammock! Breakfasts were fantastic: prosciutto wrapped eggs, homemade waffles with local syrup, muffins, croissants, fruit and yogurt… everything you could want. Cathy and Kevin were super friendly and helpful without being in your face. Definitely would love to come back!
