I hadn't purchased a pair of skates in over a decade so I didn't know what to look for anymore. Luckily for me I probably picked the best place to go! The service was great and the employee that helped me was not only knowledgeable but was able to use my price range to find me the perfect pair and guards! Also the free sharpening was the cherry on top! Will definitely be returning for more equipment in the new year as their deals were great!

BRUTAL SERVICE - Bought brand new True TF9 skates the previous week. My son skated once and the back of the skate just came off. Went in the store after his game and the Manager told me he can’t do anything, 1 his maintenance guy is not there and 2 if I want to return them I need to deal with True not Valiquette. Told him my son can’t play tomorrow because the brand new skates you sold us are broken. Answer “Sorry you need to deal with True because they are molded skates”. I have been going to Valiquette for 15 years for 3 of my kids and always had amazing customer service. What’s going on seems like they don’t care anymore. Really disappointed my son even more especially because he has to miss his game tomorrow.

Great service and a wide variety of hockey equipment. Paid $20 for 2 pairs of skates to be sharpened. It took an hour but they were pretty busy today.

After not being able to find a bunch of hockey equipment that I had been looking for at any of the big box stores, I made my way to Valiquette's. Sure enough, they had what the other stores didn't. I used to buy equipment here 20 years ago (!!!) when it was the go-to place for top quality hockey equipment and apparently not much has changed. It's STILL the best place! Another Rob helped me out for a solid hour and was super helpful. I really appreciated the great customer service. Don't sleep on this place!

Went today to get my skates sharpened (5:15 pm) and they refused because it was late in the day. I asked one staff member if this was a one-off thing because of staffing or a new policy and he couldn’t answer. For context, I’ve been getting my skates sharpened here since 2003 and always on a weeknight after work so this is new. The sales person got the manager and the manager also couldn’t give me a conclusive answer either. I work 9-5 and wanted a clear response if I should bother returning in the future for service and he was extremely evasive and dismissive. He made it sound like they only have 2 people on staff ever that sharpen and one was sent home at 3 and the other was “busy putting things away in the back room”. I asked if any of the 3 boys standing (mostly just chatting) on the floor knew how to sharpen and he said no. Seemed like maybe they could have helped in the back and the guy who knows how to perform one of your key services could have swapped, but who am I to fix your managerial issues. Verbatim the manager said “skate sharpening doesn’t keep the lights on” and that’s why it’s the way it is.This is the 2nd bad experience here in a row after many years of good service. I will likely go somewhere else now.

I couldn't find a jock strap to fit my young son, so I decided to try Valiquette's to see if they had anything. Upon arriving I was greeted and the service was excellent. I explained my son was startingCarelton hockey camp this summer. We found what we needed and were given a puck which my son loved. Well my wife went back again today to buy a water bottle that better suits him. The two young guys at the front similarly greeted them and recognized my son. They both immediately asked him how his camp was going and addressed him by his name. My wife was very impressed and it made my son feel really special. I will say this is a lost skill that most retailers lack. Recognition of repeat business. Keep up the great work!!!

Alot of choice for hockey and baseball. Plus they are re arranging inside so it's less of a hassle to find stuff as they would need a bigger location. Staff was very nice.

Been going to this store for years. Dealt with Corey and always had great service.Went to store today to find out Corey no longer works there. The person who was there was so rude. Not sure how long this person has been there but a Terrible way to deal with customers. I can see a decline in customers if this person is or thinks he is in charge

Bought a stick at Valiquette. Before doing so I confirmed with the staff at Valiquette who helped me that I had a 30 day warranty. After my stick broke within the warranty period I learned from the stick manufacturer that my stick was not covered under warranty and staff at Valiquette had given me false information. Despite this, the manager at Valiquette refused to replace my stick. I won't be back. Lots of other places in the city to buy sports equipment for myself and my family.

Last week, I brought my fifty-year-old Bauer hockey skates to Valiquettes to be sharpened. The skates had not been sharpened since 1976. The guys were brave enough to give it a try, and did a wonderful job.Now just waiting for the canal to open :-)

This store is honestly the best in Ottawa no doubts about it. Customer service is top notch and the deals that have there are so good you can’t find them anywhere else. Oh, did I forget about there amazing skate sharpening ! If you get your skates sharpened here you can have reassurance that you will have good edges.Best hockey shop in town !
