The clothes are nice. The prices are insane however. You might as well go shop at the mall because there isn't much opportunity for saving money at this store, which is absurd being that they sell used stuff. I don't get it.

I visited a couple of consignment shops with my friend when I was in Ottawa. The Clothes Secret was one of them. I normally don't visit consignment shops. It's a lot of fun when you do on vacation. I like seeing what folks don't want and what I would wear.My friend pointed out a colour-coding discount legend. Depending on what colour tags are on items, you get a certain percentage off the ticketed price. The discount system ranged from 20 to 80 percent off.This store targets women only. Sorry, guys.I liked how organized everything was. Each rack had specific clothing sizes, with shoe sizes resting on top. I liked a beaver cap and a bunch of purses. I didn't need any, but it was nice to browse.Sadly, women's shoes go up to a size 10.5. I'm an 11. Why can't this store round up?!I did like a pair of pink sparkly sandals. It had velcro straps. It was nearly my size. Bummer.I kind of wish that they had both shoes available, so folks can try them on immediately. Instead, you have to flag a staffer for the other shoe, in a reverse Cinderella situation of sorts. You don't get a prince, but you will get to try both shoes on and walk around in them.There were a fair number of folks in this store. It was cool to see.It was a fun visit. I saw some nice blouses and also some hideous articles of clothing that I never want to see again. I enjoyed browsing around and getting out of the heat.(266)

Staff is wonderful and the layout is easy to shop. The selection seems good but I've been a couple times and only found one thing (I'm a thirty-something usually size M/L with casual and eclectic style taste, for some context). Worth returning though.

Shopping at the clothes secret is always such a blast! My mum and I love to stop in when we are in the area. The store always has a great mix of sizes, styles, and luxury to more affordable brands. Most pieces are quite reasonably priced especially compared to other consignment shops I’ve been to, plus they have amazing sales during the year if you’re on a budget! I haven’t had any experience selling my pieces, however I would definitely recommend stopping in to shop as the staff are always very welcoming and warm and provide great service!

I stopped into The Clothes Secret yesterday after having been away for most of the summer; I was in need of a few fall items so I knew exactly where I needed to go. One of the last times I was in the store was in May when I was shopping for something to wear to a casual wedding. Chelsey and Linda stepped in and helped me put together a knock-out outfit. Yesterday while I was in, Chelsea arrived with her sister, and made the time to say hi and to me and ask me how the wedding went she helped me shop for. Also while I was there, Linda was on the hunt for the perfect black jean, and found exactly what I was looking for. When I asked Linda if I could try them on she said 'you're like family Heather, go right ahead' This is the heart of small business, the connection and the relationships small business owners create and nurture. I do feel like family when I shop there, and appreciate all the guidance I get. Thank you Clothes Secret for being my go-to consignment shop. Keep up the good work :)
