“Great selection of quality shoes. You will not see this quality in run of the mill shoe stores. Service was excellent, helpful and not at all pushy. There is a huge selection of shoes that are unique and well made. I bought 2 pairs of Volks Walkers and they told me there was a year warranty. If something breaks etc within the year, and they cannot repair it, they will give you another pair or if not available a store credit. Now that is service and a company that stands behind their products!”

“Honestly the best experience I've ever had purchasing training shoes. The store has a clean, minimalist vibe and everything is well labeled. I could have picked out a pair myself but I wanted to get a professionals opinion. Karen helped me ultimately choose a pair of New Balance v12's which by the way were literally almost $100 off!! I have never experienced such seemless shopping in Ottawa for running accessories. Best athletic shoe store for avid runners for sure!

“My recent visit to Running Room was a really pleasant surprise, especially considering my initial worries as a mid/plus-size person. From the moment I walked in, the staff were warm and welcoming, which was a nice change from some other athletic stores I've been to. What stood out the most was how inclusive the atmosphere was. When I mentioned how much I appreciated the great customer service, especially as someone with a larger body type, they replied, 'Fitness comes in all shapes and sizes.' That really stuck with me and made me feel genuinely welcome.
I also wanted to try out the Hoka Bondi 8, and the staff were super helpful. They not only helped me find the right pair but also took the time to explain the features of the shoe so I could make a good choice. They made ordering the specific colorway I wanted really easy too.
I'm definitely going back to Running Room for all my future athletic needs. Their awesome service and focus on inclusivity have made me a loyal customer. Highly recommended!

“I have been visiting PodoCanada since my foot surgery many years ago. This company was recommended by my surgeon. I have been having assessments & Orthotics made ever since. The staff is knowledgeable, kind, courteous, a joy to deal with. My paperwork for submission to insurance has been accurate. I have had no issues with Canada life either as many have. The staff answer their phones & your emails. I have nothing but praise for this team. After years of going many places for orthotics, spending thousands I finally found the team that “gave me my life back” with proper fitting orthotics. I can’t say enough but thank you.”

She also apologized for the experience. Staff is very professional and more than accommodating!
The product they sell are unique and unlike any other.
Speed of delivery.
Patience with shoppers who want to try on lots of different styles.
The meh:
The floor is rough hewn planks with paint over them. Hard to keep clean.
The store is very small (but cozy) lighting could be a bit better.
It is in junkie central. Ottawa Byward market seems to be overrun with junkies and zombies as of 2024. I returned to my car and some chick was lighting a bloody crack pipe next to it.
This is not the store's fault but it is a negative factor to the neighbourhood it's in.
There is no washroom for the staff, they need to go across the road to use the over-used public washrooms.
Other than that, I would not hesitate to visit the store and despite the zombies, I personally haven't been hassled in the market area.”

“I’ve been wanting to visit this store for a long time, and I finally did. Very happy. Great, friendly service. I bought a suit and the alterations were perfect - so far, a great experience. I the. Went back a few weeks later and purchased a made-to-measure dress shirt. Picked up the shirt and it’s perfect. The shirt fits me, a larger, plump body style, better than any off-the-shelf shirts I’ve tried or purchased in the past. I see why this local store has been around for so many years and I’m glad I went to check them out.”
