This place is great! Nice peaceful store, and the people there are super friendly. The items are a bit pricey, but worth it for the quality.

As of March 13th, 2023, the Malenka Originals shop is now operated by Recreated Designs at the same location of 1098-B Somerset Street West, Ottawa, where you'll find the same great products . Founded by Katrina Barclay in 2012, Malenka Originals was a unique combo of workshop and store; a place to learn, share, and get inspired about painted furniture. After 10+ years as owner, Katrina decided to leave the shop to focus on a new career and passed operations to her employee Lisa Silfwerbrand, who renamed the shop under her own brand, Recreated Designs. Malenka means "little one" or "darling" in Ukrainian. The name was in honour of Katrina's grandfather who called her 'Malenka Katrina'.
