Update: Again and I read other posts. Rude staff and yes people look at discount 50% off items but no one takes the time to write the price on the sticker on what it is 50% off of. Thus they ask staff and many get mad when you ask. Or you have to get the cashier to check and say yes or no. 50% off what is all your customers want on the sticker not a goose chase. ( end update Oct 29/2024)Nah, I shop to have a relaxed experience, I don't get that here. Store is clean, most staff are friendly but a 50/50 crap shoot on getting a pleasant Cashier. PC points program is not what it used to be.

Much more reasonable prices than up the street.

This is my go-to spot for groceries. Bike parking is secure outside, and interior is well-patrolled.

Totally agree with the other post. The ALARM at the service desk is insane. I don't see that at shoppers drug Mart , the bay any other store where an alarm goes off every few minutes because the staff go in and out setting it off. Very Bizarre!

I buy certain cat food because I can't find it anywhere else. I also pick up meat that is on sale and other items. It can be expensive so I watch what I buy and limit what I will buy at the time.

There are security gates (saloon style security gates) at the service desk area at this loblaws on Rideau..
Some of the staff keep going through back-and-forth through the gates and setting off an EXTREMELY LOUD OBNOXIOUS ALARM. I noticed other staff members pressing a button quickly before they go through that deactivates the alarm.
The staff that keep going through and setting off the alarm NEEDS TO STOP. Either they're clueless, lazy, or they just don't give a dam.
AT THE NEXT STAFF MEETING or memo THEY NEED TO MAKE SURE ALL STAFF KNOWS HOW TO DEACTIVATE THE ALARM WHEN GOING THROUGH THOSE SECURITY GATES! It's so loud that it is a health hazard for people using the self check out area.

Disgusting place high prices for bullshit amount and we pay more for security that waste their time on their phones and don't get me on their workers just as bad with phones.... truthfully all loblaws should be shut down and loose money to teach the higher ups what it is to loose money then can't afford their lifestyle.....

Such a horrible place to shop. Thank goodness Metro opened on Rideau. I had to throw meat away twice. The ribs that were on sale smelled like fish, and the chicken thighs that were on sale were black inside. The bread that had a long expiry date turned green days beforehand. The cashiers are slow, or rude, or both. One cashier acts like he's in Alcatraz - miserable each and every time. Go up the street a little bit and shop at Metro.

Sometimes there are 50% off the tagged price on meat (beef, pork, chicken etc) in the afternoon. Today I bought some grass fed grounded beef at $4.99/lb (50% off),which is almost half of Costco's price.

As many times I have been in that area over the years, that was my first time actually going inside. It is much bigger than I thought
