There's almost no reason to go to any other shoe store in town. Amazing selection of very good brands and wide range of shoes from formal heels to sporty winter boots (including seal skin). I have a bunion and wide feet and this place has done good options for me as well. Only thing that it doesn't have is barefoot shoes and a big range of hiking shoes so that would be the only case I would look elsewhere

Best shoe store in Ottawa. I never leave disappointed. Service is top notch. Selection is amazing. They carry high quality shoes that are worth the money. I could not ask for more.

Terrible customer service. Bought a pair of shoes for $200+ and they were a little loose and the associate assured me they were "supposed to be that way" - with the price and the repuyof the brand, I believed the associate.
I took them home and wore them once, and they were completely unwearable. I brought them back the next day and the associate would not allow me to return or exchange.
I had to keep the shoes, but they lost a customer.

No help at all. Person at counter was more interested in their phone.

I went back and forth about whether to leave a review, but after the interaction I had with the manager today, and the price adjustment I noticed on my receipt compared to the shoe box, those factors finalized my decision. My experience shopping here went from okay to irritating, to abysmal.
Came in originally with a list of 5 pairs of sandals that I was interested in trying. Things started well; shoes were brought out, she was very courteous in helping me try them on and I appreciated her help. I decided on setting aside one pair to pick up the next day during an advertised seniors discount day as these were to be a gift from an older family member.
I returned the next day with another list of 5 pairs of shoes to try on as I wanted an additional pair of sandals that would be more relaxed than my previous pick. The same woman served me graciously but by the second or third pair of shoes she ended up disappearing into the back for no less than - and I'm not exaggerating - 20 minutes. I sat there, and I sat there approaching my point of irritation and considering just getting the one pair and leaving. Somehow I stuck it out, and when she returned empty handed, she convinced me to take a walk with her to the other side of the store. It finally dawned on me why she'd kept insisting on me 'walking around the store' so many times. Unbeknownst to me until after I'd picked a few new pairs to add to my trial list, the shoes she ended up showing me were probably hovering around the most expensive ones in the store.
When she returned quickly with those sandals I let her know that I had just noticed the price point and that it was outside of my budget. She then began to ask me to try them so we had an idea about sizing, to which I firmly told her no and insisted on another pair that were more within my price range. At this point my patience was running thin; by the time she came back with shoe boxes I was approaching the end of my rope. Low and behold, what she brought back from the back room was NOT at all what I'd asked for. At this point I told her I was running out of time (which was code for patience) and that I would really appreciate it if she brought me the sandals I'd asked for. Finally, she did, and after a bit of walking around, I ultimately decided to get them. The box in the picture I'm including is those specific shoes. I wouldn't notice this price difference until about a week later...
When I checked out, the saleswoman threw in a bottle of liquid (Birkenstock-related cork care) that I didn't recognize and insisted that it was "that stuff we talked about," of which we hadn't discussed anything of the sort. I asked if it was included, but she said it was not; wanting to get out of the store at that point, I decided to accept the added cost. After checking out she let me know that if I'd just waited a few days, I could have gotten it 50% off during their July event...! WOW! Just what you want to hear when you drop $370 on shoes and related items...
I got home and noticed on the bill that the seniors discount of 20 dollars was applied to only one pair of shoes, not both, and I wasn't sure (though I found it strange) if that was accurate. I could have sworn I'd also been told that VIP members (which I'd been convinced to sign up for as it was free) get 10% off shoes, too, but which was only applied to the other items I'd purchased.
I came back days later with the intent of asking about the bill for clarification. Ultimately the manager came to my aid, but by aid, I mean she was quick to inform me that I was “not letting her finish her sentence” despite her having interrupted me originally. So much for open communication! I could have simply accepted my own confusion and personal opinion that only applying a $20 discount to one purchase was a tad punishing towards those purchasing more, but I felt quite insulted by her qui

I purchased a pair of winter boots from this store a week ago, but needed to return them for a fitting problem. The owner called me a liar three times before even greeting me. Details as requested. She then informed me that I had been sold women's boots for reasons I do not understand. This manager/owner then proved unable tocomprehend that I wished to return the original boots, and purchase a different shoe. At this point, she was displaying open hostility, as well as blind ignorance.I must admit that at this point I became unhappy primarily with her.I stated that she lacked the intellect as to be in business. That she turned in an alledged crime of assault.Never in my life have I encountered such ignorance, hostility and very bad manners anywhere in the world.Theowner

Very good variety of winter boots, friendly staff.. but it's insane that the charge you 2.50 for a bag after you spend 400$ or more in one visit... At least sales the bags less price... If you offer free parking, why not a bag to carry the shoes

Although they carry excellent quality shoes in hard to find sizes their return policy is a joke. Bought some shoes at regular price, $240, and whilst at the cash was informed there is a save the tax sale going on. Oh great I said as I was not aware. Was NOT informed that their promotion is considered a "Sale" and precludes a refund, only an exchange or credit. It's not like these shoes were on a sale rack but this promotion applied to ALL the shoes in the store. Didnt matter what I bought that day, nothing was refundable! What a great sneaky gimmick for them!. Sure they discount the shoes 13% to factor the HST rebate, but they also guarantee that there wont be ANY refunds for ANYTHING purchased within that 2 week time period of said promotion. I bet you this is win-win for them but not for the customer. Sales guy insisted he told me but I DO NOT but anything unless I can return it for a refund...unless of course it was 75% off and then I will take my risks. They lost a customer. I can buy Birkenstocks and Mephistos in plenty of other places.
