The cashier could not be ruder unless he told us how much he hates us. Forget returning a hello, thank you or goodbye, oh no that ship sailed long ago. Now we're lucky if he doesn't spit at us. Quite the impact that has on the community.

Don't be fooled, the Giant Tiger isn't as easy to find as it looks in the cover photo. But once you do, the great selection and extremely cheap prices are well worth the hunt. Always stuff on sale. Although very quite and unpopular, staff are very friendly and helping.

Doesn't open on time manager is Extremely rude and made everyone stand outside in the freezing cold while she stood at the door staring at us, waiting for her late staff, bad location. Good luck.

Pretty cool place. Very old. The original and first Giant Tiger.

You cannot beat Giant Tiger. I will come here over the bigger equivalent franchises. It's a shame this is the original store in all of Canada and it looks this way. There's some wear and tear. A fresh coat of paint and perhaps reorganizing the aisles would be do it well. The selection is minimal since it is a smaller store. If there is something on sale from the flyer and you don't go the day off, forget seeing it the whole week. I do appreciate you can ask for a rain check. The staff are always friendly and greet you at the cash. A bonus here is when it gets busy they will have all 3 cashes open. There is no self serve which I don't mind but perhaps not for the person who has social anxiety.

Never have a lot of stuff in flyer, no access for the handicapped, and some items in the bread area are not fresh, and the line ups are ridiculous; it’s pretty sad when a customer has to ask for another cashier!

Unfortunately, this locations seems to never have new arrivals in stock. Items advertised in the flyer are not in store. Clothing seems out of date/from last season.Store location isn't the greatest despite being in the byward market. There are always people at the front door harassing people for money. Not a safe place to commute with a bike. It WILL get stolen. It has 3 floors, but the 3rd floor has been closed for a few years now due to lack of inventory...

Wish I could rate this place higher because the staff are amazingly kind, helpful and patient people and the prices are unbeatable, especially for being in the downtown core. Sadly I can not because this store often is selling past due products and they do not restock on a very regular basis. The store layout is a bit confusing (I think they could benefit greatly from reorganizing products in a way that makes more sense). They also open late way too often (large crowds usually waiting outside) and the online hours vs what they have posted have contradicted each other often. I frequently come here for milk for my son since they always have it for 5-6 dollars, the convenience stores rarely have the liter bags (and if they do they’re $8-10). One issue I’ve run into is almost every time at least one of the bags is damaged and leaking, please whoever is stocking the milk, handle with more care. This store is not accessible, I try to come without my stroller because if I bring it I have to leave it at the top of the stairs and the people who chip outside of the store aren’t the people I trust the most not to take it.

Bargain store. It’s got everything from shoes to nuts. Good quality items at low prices. Not wheelchair accessible but there is a button outside that you can press and someone will come out to help you.

Pretty unique building. I was looking for something and a staff member went through great effort to help me.
