Farm Boy has grown from the concept of a Trader Joe's to be more in line with what Whole Foods tries to present as. The quality is always enjoyable, but, as always with grocery stores in Canada owned by greedy billionaires (who should not exist, as it means they are exploiting the very people they need to run the place) the price of the content is absolutely foul. Food should not be this expensive, and we all know it isn't inflation. It's corporate greed. That's it.

The Farm Boy at 317 McRae Ave offers a lot more varieties than Metro, Superstore and other regular grocery stores near-by. In fact, it's quite a pleasant adventure to shop there & pick up all kinds of goumet and special food that I don't find in other stores. In terms of pricing, I believe they are comparable to Loblaws & other big box stores for meat, dairy & produce. Did I tell you they also make cooked food and bakery stuff for take-out? Lots of Farm Boy brandname pies there :)

Refusing to provide a T4 to my mother who is a former employee of theirs. My mother has called 3 times to get her T4 and met with a very rude and unprofessional HR women over the phone. The last time she called which was this morning, she explained to the HR lady that it is illegal for them not to provide a T4. The HR women responded with “I know that but” BUT NOTHING! Also has claimed they have set the T4 to CRA and that my mother will receive it mid match?which CRA does not have a history of it. A report has gone into CRA since my mother cannot file taxes because they did not sent it to CRA and are refusing to send it to her.

I did a post last year and gave it a 5 star because I loved their salad bar. Yesterday I wanted to buy myself a salad for lunch and was disgusted with the dry, wilted and slimy produce/ingredients that I saw in the cold tables. There was a gentleman there that seemed to be the store manager and he didn't seem too care. I almost went to him to show him what I was seeing but didn't. If he would've said to me " sorry we are under staffed" I would've lost it!! It seems these days, that's the excuse. Being a chef, I've been understaffed most of my career and I never jeopardize the quality of my food because of that. I left hungry and disappointed. Thanks

Great hours, clean, overall friendly staff plus a great variety of fruits and veggies. Been shopping here for the past 4 years and I wouldn't think of going elsewhere.

Went to get a caesar salad but they had no caesar dressing. Why bother to make the salad if you can not offer the dressing? Where do you park at this location? Superstore?

Overall the store is up to par or better than some of the older locations. Gave 4 stars because parking is not really friendly for shoppers but if you are on foot, you shouldn't be disappointed.

Always fresh ingredients, fresh produce and I love the fact that their local brand is always up to par with the best brands out there at a fraction of the cost. Their roasted chicken is delicious .
