Yesterday, I phoned "Things Engraved" - Oshawa centre, as I wanted 3 copper mugs to be placed on hold and I also inquired if I would be able to have the mugs engraved in the evening when I pick them up and the clerk stated yes and that it would take about an hour. When I arrived at the store, I was told that it would then take about 3 hours. I didn't fuss over the 3 hours as I knew from the time I called to place the mugs on hold and the time I arrive, other orders must have came through. I was told it would take 3 hours. I waited three hours in the mall killing time and Christmas shopping. After the 3 hours, I went back to Things Engraved and she stated the clerk that took my order did not inform them that I required the items by the end of the night. The lady who I spoke stated I would have to wait ANOTHER half an hour before I can get my items. I waited another half an hour (mind you, I'm 7.5 months pregnant and very tired). When I went back into the store, the items were engraved with font I selected however not done in the size that the clerk stated it would have been done in. The clerk stated the font will be done in the size that is on display where customers select their chosen font from. Attached is the photo of what I received versus the size it was suppose to be. I am giving these three mugs to grandparents so the font size that was done doesn't show the writing up clearly on the mugs. The clerk in the store offered to rewrite the names on the mugs on the other side of the mug but how stupid would it have looked to have one side of the mug with a small font and the other side have the same wording in a bigger font. Think about it truthfully? After waiting the 3 hours, then the extra half an hour, then to have receive my item with a size font that I did not select, you can understand my patience had worn out. The clerk offered me a $10 gift card to use. I looked around as I do not live in Oshawa therefore won't be near one any time soon. I saw online that there was a 30% sale off of Baby Banks - the clerk stated she could not honour the online discount as well as apply the gift card because the system is old? Seems like BS to me.

Great staff. Horrible products.Spent $50 on a keychain. Which first of all is outrageous.Second of all it fell apart. TWICE.Pay $1 for every letter engraved for it to fall off. Unimpressed.UPDATE;; Keychain is now RUSTED and a chrome color. This was a silver "THE BOSS" keychain. I've had it for 6 months.. horrible products

Glasses I bought were great. The older lady at the counter certainly needed customer service skills. She was very abrupt and not welcoming. I purchased some whiskey glasses for my wedding. There was a name that was left out for the engraving. I had written the names down and so she was certain she would be able to read them she rewrote them down on another piece of paper. She had left out one name. When the glasses came in and were all in graved it was noticed that one of the glasses did not have a name on it and we figured out that it was one of the groomsman. It was only a three letter name but she was adamant that I was going to have to pay the $.75 per ladder to get it engraved. After a brief discussion about how she had written the names down And left that one out, she was clearly not letting up that I would have to pay. Being how cheap it was, it was not the money whatsoever, but the principle. My mom and aunt had returned to pick them up right before the wedding. I was told that my mom had asked for the whiskey glasses, to which the lady behind the counter sternly replied they are scotch glasses. When I asked about this, it turned out it was the same lady, to no surprise. So overall, I like the products but the staff, particularly one needs to get some customer service training.

I am beyond frusterated I went into Things Engraved at the mall first of all I was just looking, I figured since my cat Max died I could get his name on a necklace. I walked into the store and the employees were busy chatting (whatever I didnt care) I was looking at the necklaces and the first lady came over to me and I asked "do you have any more necklaces?" She got annoyed with me and had said "if you dont like the selection you can get a necklace somewhere else and well engrave it" (in a very angry voice).I chose a locket and went up the counter where the employees were talking, and then I told her what I wanted engraved as she was still talking to the other employee. I spelt out Max-Frodo and she didnt even have me look at the spelling she just told me the price and how long it will take, I did end up paying and I walked around the mall.Half hour later I go back talking with my boyfriend on the phone. I told him to hold on I was cashing out. As I stood there for 5 mins the lady FINALLY noticed me she was texting on her phone. And she showed me the locket and it was spelt Max Fodo. I told her it was wrong and she got frusterated with me and said "this is how you told me to spell it." I got frusterated and I snapped "I'm pretty sure I know how to spell my dead cats name!" She then went over the spelling again and said "ohhhh theres an R well sorry we dont have anymore lockets." I asked for a refund and she at first refused and told me to come back when they had new lockers. I began crying and that's when I got my money back. This was the worst experience especially hours after putting my beloved pet down
