Do not get a cat here. We just adopted cats here not to long ago and the second day we got them one of them started to have a gross eye with eye boogers coming out. We went to the vet and they said that it was common for that shelter to have stuff like that. It's a infection that can kill them. It's a long term infection but it can be treated. It can stay with them there whole life. Do not get a cat there unless you want to pay 600$ in vet
bills.
We never got any warning of any such thing at the shelter. When we called Mathieu to tell him we where having issues, he sounded completely annoyed by the situation. Do not buy a cat there it's not Worth your money.

This review is an update after airing my issues with the process I encountered on my first ever adoption.
Matthew was so kind to reach out to me after my review, and explain to me why their process is the way it is, and how the process became the way it is. I do agree with him that they run a fair practice based off their capabilities as a purely non profit shelter and overall, they're very reasonable people who listen to concerns.
I am very saddened that I had to return my cat due to some costly medical issues within the first few weeks but rest assured I was told he will be well taken care of and that makes me a little bit happier.
Despite the hiccups that occurred in my individual case, I do appreciate everything the comfie cat shelter does for the kittens and old souls they bring in.

Rude staff.
Denied my mother in law’s application to get a cat till her other 16 year old cat died first.
Not sure how they go about things over there but, my mother in law was honestly upset and had her heart out to go and pick a cat or 2. She is a cat lover and someone I’d trust to care for my own if I ever had to go away.
One out of the two cats in her household had passed away last fall and she wanted to fill that missing piece in her heart and home but, clearly they don’t care about that.
Well if you guys continue to be strict good luck finding homes for these fur babies. What happened to the days when you could just go in and look around and choose the one you’re interested in or which one bonds with you the most.

I adopted my new kitten Darcy here today. The staff/volunteers are awesome, so patient & knowledgeable. They clearly do the best they can to make sure every cat goes to a great home. Huge respect for everyone who gives every animal that comes in their doors the love they deserve.

They all work so hard here the Volunteers. There's so many Kitty's. I adopted a 5yr old girl feline she's wonderful. It's sad what ppl do to the world. Prices are so wonderful. They have so many. They take donations of food, toys & litter.

The Comfie Cat Shelter was amazing to work with when it came to meeting my fur baby! Their process of bringing you through the shelter and allowing you to interact with all the animals was a perfect way to ensure that we got to find our puuurfect new best friend. Their application form wasn't too extensive and asked all the right questions, they followed through with references and made sure we understood and felt comfortable with the process. We adopted our boy a few weeks ago now and could be more grateful for our experience with the shelter. If you're thinking of adopting a kitty from here, do it.

I don’t think they really need or want people to adopt. I applied and have great references because I actually take care of my pets and I never heard back from them.
