MEC is MEC but the parking at this location is atrocious. Doesn't help that there are no lights for when you turn left. You can wait forever.

I had a fantastic experience at the Mountain Equipment Company. The staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, making my shopping experience enjoyable. The store itself is huge, offering a wide range of outdoor gear and apparel. I also appreciated the convenience of the washroom facilities and underground parking. Overall, a great destination for outdoor enthusiasts!

Great location with a good selection but a bit pricey, which is normal for mec. They don’t have the best sales.

Little pricey, but if you are familiar with MEC, always great quality. Wait for a sale and its better value. They have underground parking with access to the main floor via elevators.

Customer service has gradually been decreasing. Today was the second time I was shopping for shoes for my 5 year old daughter where today's visit mirrored the last one, where there was no one visibly around to help with selection. It took several minutes to find someone and when I did find them, it was like they didn't want to be there. No questions to ask what type of shoe I was looking for, comfort level, fit, price range, colours, etc. One and done - once the sizes were given and the product provided for my daughter to test and wear, the person was nowhere to be found because it was too big. It took me 20 minutes to get there, 10 min to wait for someone, then 5 minute for me to finally find someone today. 30 minutes wasted for not getting what I needed. Then when I went to the cashier after I ended up picking something only because I didn't want to leave empty handed, I asked if I could leave a complaint. The woman looked at me completely not understanding and she had to speak in Farsi to a colleague because she didn't speak English very well! Why someone who doesn't understand English in a frontline role is just a sign of how poorly managed and organized it is. I can understand why the store is consistently empty. What a sloppy mess.

super bad experience, charged me $60 for replacing a tube of my ebike without telling me upfront. when I questioned why it's so expensive, the manager suggested he could swapped the leak tube back to resolve the dispute.

Poor service. Arrived to return a MEC tent where the seam glue was coming off, allowing for leaks. I thought MEC had the "rock solid guarantee" which is why I purchased from MEC for the last 10+ years.
There was a staff member who had to inspect the product. He was whiny because he was supposed to going on break.
Look - if you are to go on break, don't bring your sour face in front of the customer.
Then after 10 minutes, a refund was issued "under warranty" but it was issued only on a gift card? No reason was given. Now I'm stuck with a MEC gift card and I don't want to shop at this store ever again. It's overpriced for just basic Decathlon/Chinese products but it comes with a guarantee, but not really.
My main complaint is that staff are just whiny and entitled. The people who work in this store makes it seem like "just a job". Every job is "just a job" until you find your own personal purpose to be there.

I always come to the store for sporting goods and I always impressed with the friendly and kind customer service. I had some issues with some Hoka shoes that I purchased and they were within warranty and the mountain co-op on Shepherd looked after me as usual Thank you payman and staff

After agreeing to fix my little girls bike, I arrived at the designated time to pick it up. After searching for the bike, I was told by the associate “the mechanic didn’t do it and you’ll just have to wait but they called in sick today so they’ll call you”
They knew the bike needed to be done by noon because my daughter’s lesson was at 1 PM and they had it over two (2) days. No phone call in the morning to say sorry he called in sick. We couldn’t do it. Just the expectation that a customer should inconvenience their eight-year-old girl and just deal with it
I guess this is why Mace is having financial issues because they don’t care about customer service

MEC charges way for the same products sell elsewhere. A bucket hat priced $54.99 and asked for price match at MSRP @49.95, it is where other stores sell at. The cashier checked and refused, it was because total costs with shipping was still less than other stores. Ok! fine. One week later, the price dropped to MSRP. Reorder and return over price items. If MEC really cares about the environment, why not sell at the prices matched with others and save ur shipping costs with multiple orders of the same products and our time, gas, trips to the store.
