I should have checked the negative reviews beforehand. My wife and I went to buy a couch from The Brick Niagara Falls branch last January 23rd. Despite clarifying two crucial points with the sales agent – ensuring it fits in our SUV and passes through a standard-sized door – the purchased item doesn't fit in my SUV today on the pickup date. The sales agent even went to his computer that day to check the dimensions. In his exact words he clearly stated,”It will definitely fit the SUV but you might need to have the compartment door slightly open”.The sales agent's assurance contradicted the reality.Today when I picked up our order, the person I spoke to told me that the salesman will not say such a thing. That made me look like a liar and my wife was furious because we both heard what the sales agent said. Now we're given the option to hire a U-Haul for $55 or pay an $89 delivery charge. It’s like a scam where now you’re forced to pay the delivery charge. This experience reflects an establishment prioritizing sales over customer satisfaction, prompting me to consider filing a complaint to prevent others from facing similar issues together with their fallen victims. They might offer a refund, but it feels like a trial-and-error tactic common in the sales industry. If they make a sale, it’s a win-win for them, and issues like ours could be overlooked. They simply do not care if you take a leave in your workplace and travel 26 kilometers just to pickup your product. From the reviews, it appears that while they are responsive, there’s a concern that they might not be taking matters seriously or addressing issues adequately.

I went into the store at the Niagara square on Saturday night at 6:15 ( 45 before closing ) with my family to purchase a lamp, living room table set, large tv and fire place stand. We knew exactly what we wanted as we were in last week looking as well. We walked around for about 15 minutes and didn’t see 1 employee. We could have walked out with anything we wanted. At 6:30 ( 30 minutes before closing ) I noticed 1 employees closing the front gates to make people think they were closed. At that time I noticed a S/A and let them know that we needed help but was still ignoreed. There were multiple customers still in the store, all being ignored, 1 customers actually yelled at for help wanting to purchase a couch set. You would think in this economy stores would want customers to purchase items. It’s not like it was 5 minutes before closing. We left empty handed and will not be back. As leaving I noticed that they had fully closed the front gates only leaving 1 door accessible, I guess the staff wanted to leave early. It was only 6:35 at this time.

BEWARE OF SO CALLED CREDITS FOR EXTENDED WARRANTIES!!I purchased an extended warranty on a love seat as I was told that if there were no claims after a required time, I would receive credit for the entire amount. I was very pleased that The Brick reminded me that I had a credit for $249.99 and had until the end of Dec./23 to use the credit. At the store, the associate told me that 1. I had to select minimally $400 worth of merchandise. And 2. that amount would be billed, plus tax, then the $249.99 would be deducted from the total. I asked that the credit be applied before the tax was calculated, and on urging at the second request, I was met with a hand up, and the somewhat terse words "Non-Negotiable". I selected approximately $267 of furnishings that I could use, and chose giftware to make up the difference for a total of $455.28 which included 13% GST, then the credit of $249.99 was deducted from the total requiring me to pay $205.29. In total, my 'credit' cost me $205.29 plus the original tax of $32.50 on the extended warranty. In order to claim my 'so called $249.99 credit' it cost me an additional $237.79. And, given that I am unable to assemble the furniture, there was an additional cost involved which I contracted privately. Two issues:-Had the credit been applied before tax was calculated, my out of pocket cost would have been $32.50 less.-Had it been evidenced to me at the initial purchase of a love seat on which I bought the extended warranty, that I would have had to spend an additional $150, plus pay double the tax on the extended warranty amount, I would have made a much more informed decision.I am left to believe that The Brick determines this policy for some gain for the corporation. Everywhere else I buy goods and get a credit, the credit amount always includes the tax. I will certainly make more informed decisions should I ever decide to buy anything from The Brick in future.
