I just took my car to Auto Works Niagara for a check-up and repair, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the service I received. I’m honestly appalled at the way I was treated today.I called two days ago to request pricing on Cabin Air Filters and Engine Filters (including installation) for my car. I was told the INSTALLED price of $19 for the Cabin Air Filter and $25 for the Engine Filter. I gave the gentleman (Dave) on the phone all information with regards to my vehicle. I informed him that I would like a quick service, upon which time he told me that this was not possible until the following Wednesday, where I am to approach the counter and ask specifically for him. I asked if there was a specific time that I was being entered for, to which he said no and I can come anytime on Wednesday.When I arrived on Wednesday, I was being helped by a gentleman at the counter and he said this would be a 15 minute service, as I was told this on the phone. 20 minutes later, another gentleman (Mike) entered the office and took over. After 45 minutes had passed, I asked for an update on my car and I was informed that they were waiting on the filters to be delivered (???). I was shocked as I was told on two separate occasions by their associates that this was supposed to be a 15 minute installation. Mike began to tell me that this shouldn’t have happened and I should’ve been called for a different time. Additionally, he told me that his mechanics were “good at some things, not good at other things”. As if this is something a first-time client wants to hear.After 1.5 hours, the filters were installed in my car. Mike called me to the counter and told me that he would do me the favor of not charging me for labor. I told him I was already given all inclusive pricing of $19+$25+tax and that’s what I’d be paying. Upon saying this, Mike asked me if I thought that the filters were going to “magically be placed themselves” and proceeded to chuckle. I honestly was in shock. What kind of an interaction is this from a business? I repeated that it was the all-inclusive price I was given and that’s what I’ll be paying, basically telling me he wasn’t doing me any favours. I think he was expecting me to be astoundingly grateful? For paying the all-inclusive price that I was told at before the service was confirmed?It seems that after realizing that this actually was not a favor, he started to say the the prices I as told were “significantly lower” and he was basically doing this for free. At this point, I just wanted him to stop talking as Id had enough. Anyone reading his should keep in mind that I was not arguing, shouting, yelling, swearing or anything. I was simply responding to his claims of doing me favors. I stopped responding because it had been 1.5 hours and I just wanted to take my car and leave.But, he kept going. He started ranting and saying that it’s “obvious that you don’t understand what we go through in terms of deliveries, mechanics, etc”. I WAS IN SHOCK. The stereotype of auto mechanics being condescending towards women presents itself again. HOW IS HE TRYING TO SHIFT BLAME FROM HIS ERROR ONTO ME? Or trying to get me to empathize with him. It appears to me that he has been given a lot of grace from clients (instead of giving a genuine apology and trying to make things right) and just depends on it. When it wasn’t given, in comes the tantrum.First and last time visiting. I’d much rather pay 5x and go to a dealership. This is what I get for supporting a local business for the first time.Anyone reading this - take everything they tell you with a bag (not a grain) of salt. As everything I was told today was utter bs.

The best service and his staff were very friendly. Prior to the oil change we had done he was able to fix our Santafe 2 month ago . He is an honest man and > will continue to take my cars to his shop. Highly recommended.Thank you Mike.Khal and Ludie.
