I highly recommend Star Nails at 71 Marketplace. I have tried many different nail salons and Star Nails is by far the best.
The attention to detail they provide is incredible and they want to ensure you are happy with the entire nail salon experience. I always am. They remember me and, more importantly, remember my preferences. I am definitely NOT just another customer. And they treat everyone this way.
The nail specialists are always perfecting their skills, even when they don’t have clients. I read a review by Lara saying they sit around on the chairs on their phones. This has never been my experience and, if they do so, there’s nothing wrong with that! If I had those delicious massage chairs at my disposal, I would sit in them, especially if I was in the nail tech business. As for the salon being dirty, again, I have not seen that. In fact, I see the staff always cleaning.
Joli, Bin, and NeeNee are masters and the outcome is always beautiful nails. Mai, the owner, tries to accommodate one’s busy schedule and she never disappoints. If you want quality, go there.
These are hardworking people who understand and always deliver top notch customer service, satisfaction, and results.

I’ve been going to this salon for years, and I’ve always had a wonderful experience! The staff are incredibly friendly, professional, and welcoming every time I visit. They genuinely care about their customers and always greet me with a smile.
Every time I walk in, there’s always someone cleaning or sweeping the floors, and I’ve never noticed any issues with cleanliness. The salon is neat, well-maintained, and has a calming atmosphere. Their payment methods are flexible, and I’ve never felt pressured to pay cash—they’re accommodating and respectful of what works best for me. If you’re looking for a dependable, clean, and caring nail salon, I highly recommend this place!

First time at this salon on Saturday .The staff sit around on their phones rather than cleaning , the place is filthy .The baseboards have caked on dirt , the floor is dirty yet staff sit in the pedicure chairs on their phones and speaking a foreign language while staring customers down . I’ve never felt more uncomfortable anywhere. The owner should send them home if not busy or task staff with cleaning and ensuring all staff are respectful to customers. I was there for well over an hour and witnessed 3 staff members on their phone the entire time .The owner should install cameras to see how despicable this is. I was also asked if I wanted to pay cash and informed if I paid cash no tax would be charged .Where is cash money going ? Is the owner aware of this illegal practice ? While I will never return to this dirty and unhealthy nail salon , I have informed Health Canada and asked that they conduct a full inspection of the premises.
Cleanliness: As stated above the place is filthy .Baseboards have caked on dirt , Floor is dirty , shelves that hold nail polish bottles is beyond dirty .This is unhealthy !
Stylist: Staff sit in pedicure chairs on their phones while speaking a foreign language , making customers feel uncomfortable.Owner should consider installing cameras in this salon . Asking customers to pay cash to save tax is illegal.

Unfortunately I ended up here since I needed a pedicure and it was very last minute. I probably got the most inexperienced kid in the room who barely spoke English which was very frustrating since he could barely understand me. On top of that the owner didn’t seem to give a f…, anyways I should have read the reviews here before coming as I clearly am not the only disappointed customer.

I had a nail appointment today. The colour I chose was bright pink. You can clearly see where there are empty spaces in the polish on all my nails. I asked to have a third coat and he said no. I then told him I wanted matte finish and he said yes ok. And continued with the gloss. Another woman who works there came over after I said no please, I asked for matte.. said no why don’t you use gloss. It looks better and I replied ok but I don’t like the gloss. They then spoke in their language, clearly annoyed but agreed to the top coat in matte.

Star Nail is THE place to get the most spectacular mani/pedi in Barrhaven! Each member of this team is professional, attentive and responsive to the needs of even the most discerning customers. Hellen is gem and my ‘go to’ stylist. HIGHLY recommended!! 5 stars all the way!

Pedicure was probably 1/5 (worst I've ever gotten), manicure was a 5/5 so it’s hard to write a proper review. My pedicure started at 7, so an hour before closing and was sped through in 30 mins. I think she forgot to soak my feet/fill the tub with water and most of the pedicure was done DRY. The massage lotion part- she only put lotion on my right foot, oil on the left. I don’t know if this is the usual procedure - if it is I won’t be coming back.

Brought my daughter in there just now to get her nails removed. Regardless of the service, this place as soon as we opened the door, the smell from the chemicals was unbelievable. They need to install proper ventilation units, this has to be some sort of health code violation. They are all sitting in there with the door closed. One lady said oh we will open the door for you, no thanks I'll sit outside. Never again. It's so bad for your health.

Maybe the person I had was just having an off day... but my nails were so badly done. I got very simple pink shellac for toes and fingers. She didn't shape my nails with a file at all, just kept them all in the random shapes they were already in, so they didn't look uniform after. There was a big gap left between my cuticle and the shellac. Less than a week later they looked so grown out because of that, and they started chipping from the bottom and sides! I don't know if something went wrong in the process, because when I showered, the edges of the shellac softened and started to curl under. At the tips the shellac was so thin and didn't come all the way up to the tips of every nail.
It all felt really rushed and didn't turn out unfortunately.
They lasted one week (that's the photo I attached) before I removed at home.
Edited to add: I totally forgot!! It was not very clean either. The girl who did my nails never once asked me to go wash my hands, she pulled a very used nail file covered in nail dust out of her apron to use on me, trays with tools and polish in them all had a layer of nail dust on them, and the worst - my technician kept scratching her bare thigh then continued doing my nails without washing her hands ?

Best nail place. I only trust them with my nails. They treat you amazing, and what I like about them compared to others, no matter who does my nails they are good. A lot of nail salons don’t pay attention to details like the shaping etc. they are experienced, and as I said customer service is always on point. Just like my eyelash lady who I been going to for 12 years, I am loyal to them now to after been here several times, and never disappoints. And I’m very picky person. Thank you guys
Ps: Helen is amazing , and I always get lele for my feet. Also bin is amazing. Those are my 3 go to.
They will not disappoint.
