Facility and staff are 5 star very happy on that front!
Regarding memberships. Bought classic membership primarily as I go to Merivale 90% of the time. When going to other Movati's it would cost me $5 which I was not pleased about but could deal with paying a basic $81 membership. Now Movati has decided to charge you $16.50 for using another Movati facility other then your home gym under a classic membership. This is disgusting and quite frankly just wrong!! So options they give you is pay the $16.50 if you go to another movati everytime or upgrade your membership for another $30 a month so $110 ttl. All I can say is come on 12 months so I can leave this place!!

Staff is great, lots of equipment. I really like the new layout with all the renovations that are happening right now. The layout is really nice for the stretching area. Plus the women's area is nice and spacious too.

I joined Movati just over a year ago. Initially signed up with the non-commit membership so I wouldn't be stuck in a contract I didn't like, but I ended up enjoying it so much I switched to the commit membership about 4 months later.
Main takeaway: Great workout classes and clean facilities! Front desk staff are always friendly and happy to help with questions.
The women's change room is always clean and relaxing to be in. Everyone is courteous and conscious of other people's space around the lockers.
At first, I was put off by not having the option to pay my membership fees with my credit card, but you can actually pay by credit card if you pay in advance! You can do at the front desk if the gym, or online using the iclubonline website. I love having this option to make payments easier.
I mainly go for classes, not really using the machines in the gym area. Some classes I've tried and enjoyed:
Kettlebell Strength: great class for learning how to properly use kettle bells. Teachers always take you through the movements safely before starting sets
Aqua Intensity: really like this class, can be as challenging as you want it to be with the water resistance against your arms & legs.
Rhythm & Beats : Class for psychopaths (this is what you will call it the first time you try it). Very fun spin class, and once you've done it 4-5 times you don't feel like you're going to die.
Also enjoyed power barbell and the yoga classes!
The Déja Brew - Powered Up smoothie from the smoothie bar is also dangerously delicious. Tastes kind of like an iced capp. The biodegradable straws they use are great and don't get soggy like the paper ones.
Great gym! My only request would be : add a mechanical horse with hourly rental rates.

Gym cares more about personal training clients then the other members paying good money to workout here.

I mainly come for the classes here. They have soooo many classes at a wide variety of times, which is great because my work schedule is always changing. I haven't done any aqua or cycle classes, but have taken a lot of their other ones. Some are really hard to get into (pilates especially books up super quickly). Make sure you are there 5 mins early to set up before class and most instructors shut the door promptly at class start time so leave yourself time for traffic or unexpected delays so you are punctual.
The instructors for the classes are excellent. Diane, Natasha, Cheryl, and so many more knowledgeable and helpful instructors.
All the areas I've been in have been clean and well-kept and front staff has been polite and responsive.
Lots of parking. I find this location isn't as busy as the Barrhaven location, so it's easier to get into classes and find parking here.

*UPDATE: They made more floor space in Womens-only gym ? Thank you!!
Nice facilities, has what you need at any level of fitness. The pool and “spa” elements sold me. BUT, see warning below…
I do wish the women’s only gym was set up better- very counterintuitive. Fundamental equipment that unlocks potential for women especially, is elsewhere in the facility…sigh. No Smith, needs robust push/pull, needs more cable frames. There’s only like 4 benches??? The women’s gym is also like working out in a fishbowl, makes you feel watched - your audience is everyone on a cardio machine. There’s absolutely no room for floor work/stretching/free space…I’m actually worried someone will get hurt. Where are women supposed to practice what they learn in classes? At the very least, it does offer safe navigation where you can B- line in and out of the facility.
BE AWARE - skip the new membership Game Plan Session, especially if you’re not new to fitness. I’m in shock. The rhetoric is so harmful, it broke my spirit and motivation. Truly bizarre, I had a hard time not finding the nearest escape the whole time. Shameless sales for PT. Just get your free body comp, or not, my $20 bathroom scale tells me the same thing, and RUN!!!!!!

I love Movati Merivale/Meadowlands ❤️ I workout in the women's gym and it makes me feel fantastic! When I walk through the doors, my mind switches into workout mode and the women's gym provides everything I need.
I built a home gym during covid but it's just not the same. I returned to Movati and look forward to going every time. The staff are great, the people are nice, and the gym is so clean. I won't go without Movati again. True love!

Good gym but they got rid of their daycare literally the year I have my first baby. Super annoying. It’s supposed to be a premium gym.

I want to thank Lou-Anne for her amazing class. She is awesome! so energetic and makes the workout fun! Her rhythm and beats class is the best. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and effective workout.

I joined, excited about the pool. But when I swim in the ladies section, there are large clumps of hair at the bottom and floating by when I swim. It's gross. I don't think they clean it like they say they do.

The facility is top-notch, with a wide variety of classes to choose from.
But what truly sets this gym apart is Nancy L. She is absolutely phenomenal. I definitely recommend this gym, especially if you have the opportunity to train with Nancy L. She is a true gem and has made my experience at Movati truly exceptional.

Edit:
Changing my review to 1 star.
In the matter of weeks I’ve witnessed the decline and unwelcoming atmosphere.
None of the staff I knew and grew relationships with are there anymore.
When talking to the manager Emily about the worms in the woman’s shower, I was dismissed and informed they are short staffed because no one wants to be a custodian forever so of course it is a revolving door of employee’s.
And that told me all I needed to know about what is going on at this location.
Bad management.
My parents immigrated here and worked their hearts out as janitors giving us a life we wouldn’t have had back home, buying their house, putting us through school and retiring with free hotel rooms all over the world.
Being a janitor is honest rewarding work.

The men's steam room has smelled horrible for 6+ months. It smells like sewage. Something needs to be done about this. Otherwise the gym is quite good.
