I will paraphrase my recent phone call to best of my ability:“Birks.”“Hi, I have a question for you. I have a silver candlestick from my late grandmother. It’s over 50 years old, and we accidentally broke it. Do you do repairs?”“No. No, we don’t do that. Not here.”“Do you mean just your location or any Birks store?”“Not anywhere. Not at Birks.”“Ookay, thank you.”Then she hung up—I’m sure to continue delivering excellent customer service to other clientele.

Was in last week at Bayshore and was greeted by the rudest employee ever. She was behind counter on her laptop, not sure if for business or play. Waited to be acknowledged but it took me making a noise for her to lift her head. I simply asked if there was someone who can help me and she responded "IM LOOKING AT AT YOU AREN'T I". I was shocked into silence and my face showed it. I explained I inherited a 20kt Blue Topaz and need it sized and an estimate done. She asked if it was a Birks ring and I told her it was. Her attitude completely changed once she saw the ring and the stamp. This person needs to have an attitude adjustment done ASAP.

Bought a watch here and was told as long as the watch was brought back to Birks battery changes would be free. Brought it in this year, the employee was sitting down watching something on her ipad, didn’t even close it, kept sitting and watching it while talking to me. She told us they were no longer honouring that. After 10 years of polite and helpful service at Birks, quite a letdown.

I have been shopping with Birks for about 5 years. I bought Muse Ribbon collection, pearls and a Roberto Coin ring from the downtown location. Lately I only shop at Bayshore exclusively. They have a large selection of jewelry on sale up to 50% off! The Asian lady working there was very nice and helpful! The store just have a friendly vibe. I highly recommend checking their assortment and enjoy the experience!

Great place to buy jewelry from a wide range of pricing. Well-designed and good quality. Super friendly and helpful staff. Tracy was very knowledgeable of the selection and able to suggest what fits my need. I believe she also speaks Mandarin. Super helpful and will visit again.

Beautiful store with knowledgeable, attentive employees. High quality, prestige jewelry in 18K gold or sterling silver in designs you won’t find elsewhere. They’ve really modernized... this is not your Grandparents’ Birks... you won’t find silver tea services or crystal giftware. The diamonds are STUNNING, and they have great services (custom design, appraisals, cleaning of Birks jewelry) and payment options (financing, layaway). Ou and coffee or water when you shop ?? Expect to pay more than Peoples, Charm, etc as the quality is much higher.

Emailed the store manager Tracy to confirm a price for custom ordering a ring for my upcoming wedding. After she agreed to the price we came into the store and made a deposit on the ring. 15 minutes after we left they called us back to say that they would not be honouring the deal, and offered to proceed only after they increased the price by $155.Frustrating and unprofessional deception, make sure to avoid this location, and the store manager Tracy in particular.

I had my eye on this piece for a while and finally decided to go get it so that it would come in time for my birthday. The lady that was helping me was very nice and prompt with approaching me as I walked into the store. A pleasant experience overall

I shopped here a few weeks ago to inquire about getting a ring broadened. The sales associate who served me actually normally works at the Rideau Centre location, and was extremely helpful, warm and pleasant. However, a second sales associate there who looked like a middle aged woman with dark wavy or curly hair and glasses, was the complete opposite of the sales associate I just described. I didn't realize that I had just been beamed down from another planet into this store or that I was a prison convict on the run, because that's how she seemed to be regarding me. Hands folded over chest, staring at me, and I mean staring, no smiles, and you get the picture. If Birks wants to turn away customers, then she's perfect for this job. Because the second I dropped my ring off I regretted it, and wanted to return and retrieve it. Funny thing was as I was driving away from Bayshore, an OC Transpo bus moved up in the next lane, with an advertisement for Taing Jewellers. And that's where I went to get the work I needed done on it, for almost half the price I was quoted at Birks.
