“Updated May 2023Overall, this is a great place to buy bulk food items, get cake decorating supplies, spiced, health foods, and supplements. There are often coupons available: $3 off per $15, or $5 off per $20. Wednesday is 10% off for Seniors (65+) and Students. You do have to know your prices, as not everything is cheaper than the grocery stores. But that is with any store. However, if you bundle your purchases with the $3 or $5 off coupons, the cost is usually still lower than the grocery stores.Sundays are Sustainable Sundays, and you get 15% off REGULAR priced items. You need to bring a clean reusable container, and have it weighed before using it.”
“Helpful, friendly & knowledgeable staff, and a nutritionist on staff to help you if you have any questions or need help/suggestions They offer a points program, which does add up, I've recieved money off my order (10.00). Every few months there is a customer appreciation sale, with 20% off all products. They sell bulk herbs & baking ingredients and have a good selection of gluten-free items, also sell groceries & supplements, as well as beauty products. If there's anything you really like, that they have access to, they will special order it in for you, whether just once or on an ongoing basis (if want a specific gluten free bread every couple weeks, etc), they do not charge extra for this service and will give you a call when your item arrives.”

“If you need Caribbean and African specialty items, this is the place to go in Ottawa! I’m Jamaican and I was able to find a lot of specialty items such as Jamaican patties, buns/bread, cheese, snacks, fruits such as Guinep and mangoes. I would highly recommend to visit if you need items that are hard to find.”

“Sobeys is usually my go-to grocery store, driving past two grocery stores on my way, but have been disappointed the past couple of weeks, as their flyer did not accompany my Metro and Farm Boy flyers in my Ottawa Citizen.Sitting at a computer going through screens is not as comfortable as sitting on the sofa with a cup or two of morning coffee, circling all the specials.I needed to fill my freezer, as my freezer died, resulting in tossing everything.So, I went through the flyers I received, went for those specials, and then picked up a few things at Sobeys, on the way home.When I can get them, the rib end pork chops are the best at Sobeys.It is a very clean store with friendly staff and losts of choices in prepared salads, fruit and veg, a great deli, bakery, and never had a problem with any meat selection.Hope the Sobey flyers re-appear, as have only shopped at Independent Grocers a couple of times in the past few years, since they stopped their home delivery of flyers.”

“This is probably my favourite grocery store. They don’t have a lot of non-grocery items which is nice, I don’t buy my socks at the grocery store. There’s not a lot of clutter (bunkers for sale items etc. reducing your ability to move around easily) in the aisles, they’re always well stocked and well organized and clean.”

I was going to roll the cart all the way to my car but he offered to put carry my groceries all the way to the trunk of my car. Talk about being curtious! ?”
