I have been a member here for seven years. Facilities, staff, restaurant and attention to detail on boats, fishing platforms has all consistently improved to a very high level. Sitting in a boat here, overflown by a pair of osprey, watched by heron and on a lake teeming with sizeable trout in excellent condition, you would not know you are 45 minutes from Toronto.
The only downside for a fishing club is dogs. Abundant dog waste remains a problem, and members are allowed to bring packs of gun dogs to launch themselves into the lake around the fishing platforms while the owners sit at a picnic table browsing on their phones. Detrimental to nesting water birds and a conflict with a fishing club in my view. But it is allowed, so factor that into your decision. Without that issue, this is a six star facility.

This place is about half an hour from Markham. This hidden gem boasts an exceptionally beautiful environment, with plenty of fishing spots both on land and from a boat. The pond is teeming with various kinds of fish, including Rainbow trout, Brook trout, Bass etc. The presence of trout, which thrive only in clean water, ensures that the fish here are safe to eat. Adding to the allure, there is a fine dining restaurant nearby, as well as barbecue areas, making it a perfect destination for individuals or families to enjoy.

As a member, the club has been an all purpose, all season slice of serenity and natural beauty. Fishing, campfires, friendships, a place to work, relax, and eat, it provides so much for the whole family. And the staff are deeply committed to the members and the environment! A very good choice!

I remember the thrill of catching my first fish, a beautiful Rainbow Trout, at the Franklin Club back in 1967. Many thanks to my old friends the Mahoney family. The Club is wonderful.
