Once upon a time, the brand Whirlpool was a good company that had integrity. A good company that stands by their products and goes out of their way to rectify any product defects. This is not the case with Whirlpool today. My retired neighbor bought a brand new Whilpool fridge. Within a couple of months, the fridge completely stopped working. Three weeks later, she is still without a fridge. As concerned neighbors, we've donated coolers and we make ice for her everyday. Whirlpool decided that they will fix it instead of replacing it and offered $150 for her 3 weeks of troubles. The service people say they will come, but they never do. She doesn't sleep. Her health is affected. Food thrown in the garbage. Not eaten properly in 3 weeks. It is so terrible to see her tormented and going through this after buying a new Whirlpool appliance. Customer service is what separates a good company from a lousy one. Whirlpool has failed miserably. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

We bought a KitchenAid 42" built-in fridge, which is over $11,000 pre-tax. My advice... "don't do it, don't do it, don't do it... You will rue the day you bought it"!
Less than 6-months in, and it broke. First the freezer, and then the fridge by the next day. We called Whirlpool for warranty support, and the best they could do was to send out somebody 5 days later. Tech shows up, looks at some frost, and thinks it's the evaporator. They're backordered, but can get it shipped from the USA where they have 13 in stock, and it will take 2 weeks.
In what world does it take 2 weeks to ship parts within North America! I had a car that needed a new transmission, and GM flew one into the dealer in under 48 hours from the USA to Canada. Whirlpool could take a lesson from the auto industry.
Anyway, the evaporator arrives at the tech, but I don't get a call. I call Whirlpool, who reaches out to the tech, and they schedule him for 6 days later. We're now 3 weeks without a working fridge.
Tech arrives, and right away, no longer thinks it's the evaporator, and doesn't install it. Says, it might just be a sensor, so we should "try that and see". Says it's a $13 part that's in stock locally. Maybe, he should have started with that! Anyway, I still haven't heard from the tech, and that was 3 days ago. I called Whirlpool, who said all they can do is e-mail the technician to ask them to please call me to arrange an appointment. There is literally no way for me to contact the tech directly, or any way to get him to come out faster, because they won't provide contact info or even a name of the service supplier.
So, I still don't know when Whirlpool will get the tech here. And, we're not even sure this is the proper part once he does eventually arrive. If it that doesn't fix it, then what's next? Will Whirlpool replace the fridge? And if so, how bloody long will that take?
I have just never seen such poor service on any product. When you buy an appliance of this price, and advertised with a really great warranty, you expect good service. I don't know what you would call this.
HERE'S AN UPDATE AS OF 11/1/2024...
I called Whirlpool today, 4 days after the tech last on site said he ordered the most recent round parts for the fridge, which he said were in stock and he could fix it this week when they arrive. I wanted an update, as nobody had called me, so the Whirlpool rep put me on hold to contact the tech. She came back, and said the tech asked her if she could order the parts for him, which she did, and will take another 5 business days! So, if the tech ordered them 4 days ago, why did he need to ask Whirlpool to order them today, only after I had Whirlpool follow up?
To call this total incompetence would be a tragic understatement. I'll update the review again with the next development, which will hopefully be soon, and hopefully positive.

I recently purchased a new refrigerator, and within just one month, the compressor has already failed. When I contacted customer service, I was informed that they cannot authorize a replacement and that I need to MAIL a physical letter to the Whirlpool Canada office in Mississauga to seek further assistance. In today’s digital age, it’s unreasonable to require a physical letter for escalation—there should be a readily accessible phone number or email for efficient support. Please have someone contact me ASAP to resolve this issue

I have always been a loyal Kitchenaid customer but I am totally disillusioned in this brand. Currently I have a dishwasher that has malfunctioned and under one year old and cannot get any service for my warranty. It has now been over a month with no call back or service call. Is this how we get out of honouring a warranties? Unfortunately this is not my first experience. My first was a few years ago with a stove which took over one year to get fixed. Now we keep calling the warranty department the dishwasher and they give us a date to hear from a service technician and we never get a call back from a tech. So we call again and the situation repeats itself. At this point we are totally frustrated. How do you get service ??????

Update:
Contacted Whirlpool and they offered me a 15% discount on a $300 part or 15% discount on a new Whirlpool Dishwasher. I think this is pretty lame and will just purchase a non Whirlpool dishwasher and probably save more than 15%. I think the lesson learned here is that the so called “high quality “ brands like Jenn Air and Kitchen Aid are very cheaply made and will last no longer than a far cheaper brand. If your thing is having the “brand”, you can probably buy a broken one for $50 and take the logo off.
My original Post:
My 6 year old Jennair dishwasher leaks like crazy. Probably going in garbage ($2500!!) .
My 40 year old Kenmore at the cottage is still perfect. Jennair is an expensive ripoff. All kinds of useless technology coupled with really cheap design and parts.

Ordered and paid for a refrigerator more than 5 months ago and still not received! Every month a revised date is given with no assurances it will ever appear. Terrible customer service to boot. Updated 22Oct2024 - via the case # below I was offered 'updates' on the delivery date. what I would like is the fridge! Today's update was that the date had changed, for the 7th time now, from 24Nov to 10Dec! Screenshot from website shows it in-stock right now.

Worst customer service EVER.
We received our whirlpool fridge September 15th, it stopped working October 4th. Did not even work a full 30 days!!!!! We called them to explain how our fridge broke and it is brand new, the earliest they could send someone was October 15th. The technician came and said our fridge needed to be replaced with a new one and that someone would call us in 24-28 hours with an update on when a new fridge would be delivered. No one called therefore I called on October 18th, where they proceeded to tell me that the technician forgot to call the master technician to confirm the status of the new fridge therefore the order has not been processed and because its a friday they cant do anything and to call back monday. My brand NEW fridge has been broken LONGER than it was working. I will NEVER buy a whirlpool product again nor will i recommend them to anyone. They do not care about their products not working and do not care about their customers. 3 weeks with a brand new broken fridge is beyond ridiculous. Whirlpool is suppose to be a trusted brand, what a joke that is.

Good morning,
Product is very poorly made, and the company stop honoring their warranty by not sending anymore people to fix the dryer, and the people they sent could not fix it.
Thanks,

Our 9-year old JennAir built-in refrigerator which cost $14,000 was determined to be unfixable after more than a dozen service calls over the past 11 months, several no-show appointments (when I missed work) and after most of the key parts had been replaced. Apparently, the cooling lines are contaminated due to the compressor failing (which was covered under warranty). The service technician indicated that this refrigerator should last between 28 and 35 years! For the price we paid, we could have purchased a brand new refrigerator every year. If I could give JennAir/Whirlpool zero stars, I would. I do not recommend buying any Whirlpool products due to the poor product performance and frustrating customer service experience.

My 9 year old $14,000 JennAir built-in refrigerator started malfunctioning in November 2023. After contacting the Whirlpool Service Portal, we have had over a dozen visits from various technicians who on separate service calls for the same cooling problem, have replaced the evaporator, cooling fan, compressor, system recharge, motherboard and wiring harness with no lasting effect. After the past 4 months of having a non-functioning fridge while waiting for parts delivery and living with 2 mini-fridges to get by, in October 2024, the Whirlpool engineer on the phone with the technicians determined that a contaminant had entered the cooling lines and it was no longer repairable. The Whirlpool technician told us that the only explanation was that when the original compressor failed, it sent oil/metal into the cooling lines blocking the system rendering it irreparable. When I asked the technician what the normal working life for a refrigerator like this should be, he said between 28 - 35 years!
Be aware that Whirlpool outsources 100% of their service work to third-party repair outfits. Whirlpool misled me about this. When you enter the Whirlpool Customer Service black hole, there is zero accountability and zero responsibility between Whirlpool and the technicians for getting things done. As part of this 11 monthly service nightmare, on two occasions, the tech would visit, decide what parts to order and then three months would pass with no communication from anybody. After one of my many follow-up calls to Whirlpool, I would be told that the tech was waiting for parts, they had no idea when they would arrive and that they would call me when they arrived. Not once did I get a call from anyone. I had to follow-up with Whirlpool service to discover they scheduled the next appointment without even asking or notifying me. During this ordeal, there were also 4 scheduled technician appointments (which we booked work off to wait at home for) where the technician didn't show up or even call. Whirlpool customer service is by far the worst I have ever experienced - they simply do not care.
Based on the horrible customer experience and since the compressor caused the problem and the compressor is covered under warranty, I feel strongly that Whirlpool should replace my refrigerator!

Whirlpool doesn’t back these products, sadly they have no quality.
Disappointing Quality: Whirlpool Stove Doesn’t Last Beyond 5-7 Years
I purchased the Whirlpool model YWFC310SOEW1 stove in 2017, and after just a few years, it has turned into a significant safety hazard. Initially, only one burner would heat up to maximum, regardless of the setting, but now a second burner is doing the same thing. This is a major safety concern—cooking becomes unpredictable and potentially dangerous.
To make matters worse, in the 14th month after purchase, the self-cleaning feature caused the oven door and the surrounding metal to melt. This is simply unacceptable from a product that should be designed to handle its own cleaning function. The damage not only affected the appearance but also severely compromised the safety and functionality of the stove.
Considering this is an essential kitchen appliance, I would expect it to last well beyond five years without such critical issues. It’s incredibly frustrating to deal with, especially in a household with children, including one who is neurodiverse and doesn’t fully grasp these dangers. I shouldn’t have to worry about whether my stove is going to cause an accident every time I cook.
While I understand the product is out of warranty, this kind of defect points to poor quality and oversight during manufacturing. Appliances like this should be built to last, and it’s disappointing that a brand like Whirlpool doesn’t seem to stand behind the long-term reliability of their products. Given the circumstances, I would have expected a replacement or at least some support from the company, but this situation has only added unnecessary stress.
I wouldn’t recommend this model if you’re looking for reliability or longevity in your kitchen

I do not recommend to buy from Whirlpool at all. I bought a fridge in late september with an expected date for delivery, and decided to go through them as they had the product in stock and guarantee on their website a specific date for delivery, after 5 days waiting for the product, i continue to wait for my product and the delivery company does not even bother to call or say anything. their chat costumer service is poor, there was only one employee that tried to resolve the problem without success. all the people that i have been talking with either via chat or phone say something different and anyone has an answer for when should i receive my product. today i was informed that due to the holiday it will be delayed for more than 10 days, while they already have their money i do not have my product. very unsatisfied with whirlpool service!

Whirlpool has treated us with the utmost disrespect. We BOUGHT A BRAND NEW washing machine eight months ago through Costco because we had a BRAND NEW BABY and needed a more consistent machine to keep up with the laundry required for the newborn stage. Repairman has been back FIVE TIMES now (you read that right… not 1, 2, even 3x…. 5!!), and the machine is still not fixed, and when we have asked for them to replace the machine, they keep putting it off another week for the part to come in, and then another few days for the repairman to come back. WE HAVEN’T HAD A FUNCTIONING MACHINE IN OVER A MONTH, and what do they tell us to do? Write a letter. I’m, excuse me?? Do you want me to strap it on the back of the dinosaur and get it to walk it over to you instead? Customer service is totally in the dark ages, not helpful, not understanding, and has spent way more money sending technicians to come and not fix the problem then it takes to send a brand new machine. Utterly unacceptable and I would advise anybody to stay far away from Whirlpool Canada. Costco’s hands are tied because the first year of warranty is through Whirlpool.
