I had such a pleasant experience shopping at Sophie’s! Livia, my bridal consultant did a fantastic job at looking to see what I was interested and the how to work in my tight timeline. She pulled some beautiful gowns that were in my budget and nailed exactly what I was looking for. She made me feel so comfortable for a wonderful experience in finding my dress. Highly recommend!

Bought my wedding dress here, that experience was fine. However I went back for alterations and really wish I went elsewhere!
They told me to come 6 weeks prior to time wedding for alterations, which I did. The seamstress was curt and I felt very rushed. When I booked a follow up they had one appointment available between then and my wedding (a Wednesday at 12:30), which was a struggle to get to. Also seemed to be way overpriced. When I got there the alterations that were supposed to be done were not finished so I had to wait for that. Then it did not fit well so I had to wait again for her to fix it (apparently they do not do more than one follow up as a rule). When I tried the dress on the final time, I was not sure about it, but was told it’s fine and I was rushed to leave the store.
During my reception, of the loops for my bustle broke, so the dress was too long and I was tripping over it all night.
Go elsewhere for alterations!!

I had the best experience finding my wedding dress here, I was not expecting to find my dress the first day of looking but Jessica and Brianna were so helpful and found my perfect dress! They were the perfect hype girls and made me feel so comfortable and beautiful. I can’t wait to be able to wear this beautiful dress down the aisle! I recommend this place 100 times over!

Sophie’s Gown Shoppe was absolutely amazing to me from the start. The booking was easy and getting there I was assisted by Maria, a lovely lady that was there for me all the time, shared her ideas and gave me valuable advise when needed. She’s the best. All the other ladies on their team were also great, very ensuring and telling me how beautiful I looked with the gowns (not only the chosen one, but the others too). I know it sounds commercial, but sounded so natural I think it was genuine and it made me feel like a princess. I went to the store with my soon to be MIL and since it was only the 2 of us, it was really awesome to count with other’s opinions. I went there on Sunday, and picked up my dress on Thursday (based on my availability not theirs) and they even remembered me. Mind you that my name is difficult to pronounce and very rare around here, so it felt very special that not only they remembered me, but also excelled pronouncing my name! Thank you so much guys! It was truly an amazing experience ❤️

I had a great experience at Sophie’s. Nathaly was my consultant and she picked amazing dresses! Nataly was patient, super knowledgable and really understood what I wanted. I showed her my inspo photos, told her my budget and she really came through! She made this whole experience a breeze! My entourage was also super impressed with her and the whole process.

Five years ago I was MOG and had a wonderful experience here and so decided to give them a try again as MOB and I was not disappointed! I chose a few dresses and in the change room was another dress the attendant had picked out for me - I tried that one on first and that was it, this was MY dress! They were able to get my size from their London store and it arrived two weeks later, then I went for my fitting which went great, just came home from picking up my finished product, my dress fits perfectly and I'm going to feel like a princess at my daughter's wedding!! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and very helpful. Thank you Sophie's staff for everything!

I debated writing a review because I had two VERY different experiences at this shop on separate occasions - I understand bad days happen so I was going to forget and move on. However, after seeing all the other negative reviews I felt like I was reading a play by play of what happened to us and felt it was important to share so others can be warned. The low reviews don't lie… this boutique was unpleasant and unwelcoming. I would not recommend shopping here.
The first time I visited this location, I accompanied a friend who was looking for a wedding dress. The staff was attentive, polite and nice.
Given this first positive experience, I booked an appointment to shop for my bridesmaids. However, we had the complete opposite experience! When we arrived, we immediately felt unwelcomed. All in all, we only spent 30 minutes in the boutique - 30 minutes of being ignored and feeling uncomfortable.
It started off with us being 10 minutes early, and the lady at the front desk mumbled under her breath about how annoying it was and that we would have to be put in the back fitting rooms (fine with us, we are easy going!). We were then instructed to go browse the bridesmaid dresses while we waited for our consultant. 15 minutes later when the consultant arrived, she did not give us her name and just said a quick “hi” and started collecting the dresses we had pulled to bring to the change room - we found this odd behaviour, almost like she was annoyed to be helping us. But we were trying to stay positive as this was supposed to be a fun experience for us! Unfortunately once we started trying on dresses, the experience only got more uncomfortable. The consultant stood at the entrance of the fitting rooms watching and did not clip my girls into a single dress (despite having the clips in her hand). After watching the girls coming out of the change room countless times trying to awkwardly hold their own dresses into place, i took the initiative to use the clips myself since the consultant clearly had no intention of helping. In addition, the one and only time the consultant offered to pull dresses, she pulled the exact two styles my girls said they did not like. Clearly she was not listening or did not care.
After trying on the first round of dresses we picked - the consultant disappeared. I popped my head out to see if I could spot her to pull more dresses, but I could not. So we changed back into our clothes to browse some more. After browsing for 10 minutes with no sightings of our consultant, we decided it was time to leave as we were clearly not being looked after. Despite being super upset and uncomfortable about the entire experience, I still wanted to show respect and kindness, so as we were walking out I turned to the two women sitting at the front desk to tell them we were leaving. I said “Bye, thank you!” with a smile on my face - and we were met with NOTHING. Not a goodbye, not a smile. They looked at us, then away. It was just so odd and very disrespectful.
My guess is the commission on bridesmaid dresses is less than a wedding dress so we were paid less attention to - which is extremely disappointing because a sale is a sale. But it's their loss, we took our business elsewhere.
After being to many other boutiques in the Mississauga area, i can say this was the only negative and uncomfortable experiences we have had.
I would not recommend shopping here.

Currently at the store picking up a wedding gown and so disappointed!!! that we are now picking up the gown (10 dayds before the wedding) and after all the alterations and money spent that we are picking up a damaged dress. Pill fuss across the whole chest of the dress and it's our fault that we, 6 eyes, are just seeing this on the final day, because it was there all along.
Here we are trying to explain that this wasn't how it was prior to leaving it for alterations and asking for options and solutions and we are disrespectfully being told, "we bought a sample, so we get what we purchased," "we didn't notice the issues with the dress before today because we were excited during the fitting," "it was probably the jewelry that was on at the last fitting," and the list of excuses go on as no one can own up to the point that the dress was not that way when we last left the store and was not handled with care. Did I mention we have a photo that does not reflect this, we were told you just can't see it, but in the photo I took today, I can see it, but maybe the last time my camera was excited and missed it as well.
When we first purchased the dress, there was no cost given for alterations, no estimate, no expectations. Then to pay $750 plus tax for taking in the dress and cutting the bottom, + $60 to add the clip on the back because that was not apart of the $750, then to leave with a chest full of pill fuss, because after all that money the "sample dress" couldnt have been handled with care! I promise to tell everyone I talk to about this experience that the 'bridal specialist' left us with. Your lack of ownership and lack of solutions left us speechless! Thanks for your support, it will be a memorable one, but as you say no one will notice from far so she'll be good. We'll tell the groom and everyone hugging her on the day of to close their eyes.

My mom had a terrible experience here. We came to this shop for a Mother of the Bride gown for my wedding. The staff seemed disorganized and weren't very enthusiastic to help my mom and I despite having an appointment booked. Their selection in store to try-on also doesn't match what they say they have online. We ended up finding a dress we loved for my mom and they ordered it for her. It was in the store 6 months after our initial visit and didn't fit well. My mom asked for some alterations and the seamstress said they were possible (they weren't complex alterations). My mom goes back in and it's still ill fitting and also very clear that my moms requests weren't made. My mom ended up taking the dress home and youtubing how to fix the dress herself. Honestly save the trouble and look elsewhere!!! Moms out there beware!!!

I had a good experience here. Haven’t bought my dress yet but the consultant (Livia) was very helpful and she very much encouraged working with my budget (started showing stuff at the low end and then worked her way up). Loved this approach! Would recommend this shop to explore for your bridal gowns.

I can't express my gratitude for the staff at Sophie's Bridal! They helped me choose the perfect MOG dress of my dreams. Their care, attention and personal service was top notch and I would not hesitate to shop there again! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

Went in today to buy my mom a dress for her granddaughters wedding. There was a lady eating lunch at a computer greeted us from her seat, asked what we were in for and pointed to section.
Two others walked up looking at us like we shouldn’t be in their store . Looked down on us.
Another lady approaches asks again what she can help with. They stood behind us watching us look thru .
We decided there wasn’t much options and just not what my mothers looking for. We said thank you and sales lady says maybe try the bay like we are less fortunate and try a department store. Big mistake as you never know who you’re dealing with and how mich they're willing to spend. Not a good staff lineup today. Will never shop there again nor will I refer. Terrible terrible

I had a good experience visiting Sophie's store. The consultant Natalie was very patient and attentive. She brought dresses in the budget I was looking for and also helped me choose the dress that was best suited for my height and body shape. I am very glad that I was able to find a dress in this store.
