Be careful if you plan to join Movati Athletics Mississauga: They are nice and polite only when you want to join. You see their real face when you decide to leave for any reason (in my case because of long distance and after two years). Management and the admin stuff is terrible; they are not responsive at all and do not answer your call. The admin team look like models in a fashion show rather the people who should assist you. They take your money as soon as possible and if something goes wrong and you cancel, they can t seem to find anyone to pay you back. Its the worst company I have ever dealt with.

I've been a member of Movati for two years and absolutely loved it. I had to cancel my membership because I was moving, but the move fell through. Now that I want to return, I’ve found the membership staff to be really unhelpful and uninterested. It feels like I’m getting the cold shoulder no matter who I talk to, and they seem more like those satire customer service reps who just don’t care. I really wish they'd hire people with better communication skills. It’s a shame because the gym itself was great.

Movati club is a good facility but beware of payment scams- they never tell you that up front when you sign up - they upsell you the package with the freeze account capability etc but you can’t freeze without going in person and despite giving a cancellation notice over the phone multiple times and being told that their payment wont be halted unless you go in person to sign- never once was told that - you have to pay for a WHOLE MONTH after cancelling membership ( by signing in person)!

Nice club in general. Gursingh at the front desk is absolutely an awesome guy. He is ver consistent and pleasant.
I was inquiring about something recently and he provided excellent customer service. He took the time to understand what I required and he fulfilled it promptly. Thanks Gursingh for always being pleasant.

If I could only review Olivia, a PT and pilates coach, my review would be 5+ stars.
I signed up for three days a week and saw really great progress with what I could lift, my tone, and my overall comfort in the gym. Olivia is so knowledgable, kind, funny, and generally cares about your progress (this Movati is known for being cash grabby so she really stands out as someone who prioritizes my results and goals). She offers a few different pilates classes at different levels — I go to the easier and harder class back to back and I notice a huge difference. Pretty surprised about a comment I saw about Olivia spending a lot of time stretching. I’ve been going 1-2 to pilates with Olivia since it started in April and that was never my experience.
I have also heard people highly recommend Angie Fumo’s yoga and pilates classes! Super safe spaces, really knowledgable and caring instructor ?
Why Movati didn’t get 5 stars:
This gym is expensive. In a Game Plan Session, one of the managers was pretty pushy getting me to commit to 12 months (I decided on 3, and added on every few months). You can’t leave the contract once you commit. They are super pushy.
There’s been a few bad interactions with PTs that have made my experience pretty negative — this never applies to Christian, Olivia and Oshune who are all great, friendly, and helpful! There’s been countless times where I’ve been waiting at the PT desk and PTs are chatting, laughing, and avoiding eye contact with me. It changes for a few weeks whenever someone leaves a review about it, but it always goes back to the way it is. The dynamic can often feel like high school — not very comfortable. You can tell there’s a lot of internal favouritism with who is promoted. The PT manager Tyler has interrupted my PTs session countless times to ask my PT questions or reminder her of things — it just seems like bad communication and management, especially with how much I’m paying.
Finally, THIS Movati is well known by members for its exclusionary treatment to Black/POC and older trainers and instructors. Despite many of the POC and older trainers/instructors being great, and honestly, the reason I still bother to keep my membership, they go extremely under appreciated and overworked.
Tldr: Olivia and Angie are amazing, but Movati as a gym/organization wouldn’t be worth paying for without them.

This gym is scam, first of all when I joined nobody told me that I have to give 30 days notice when I need to cancel my membership, now even after I cancelled my membership I still have to pay for another month, secondly I called them to cancel my membership and told them I moved to Stoney creek they said I have to come there to cancel my membership in person, I had to drive all the way from Stoney Creek to Mississauga just to cancel my membership and when I got there all they did was ask me some questions like my phone, email address and DOB and asked me to sign a document digitally which I easily could have answered on phone call and signed the document online by email. ??

My friend and I have attended a couple of Pilates reformer classes and despite being charged 40$ for each class, it’s not worth it. I’ve attended classes with numerous instructors and I have to say by far Olivia has the worst classes I’ve been to. Reason being Olivia starts and ends the class by stretching for 10 minutes each and we are only getting 30 minutes of actual Pilates. Secondly she does not correct your form and isn’t hands on like the others. She is nice and welcoming but I am not paying 40$ to just stretch for 20 minutes and have the class end 10 minutes early. Regardless of what class you attend of hers, the intensity is the same despite being intermediate. In general Pilates reformers is not worth it because 8 people to 1 instructor slows the class down because they’re always trying to correct the noobies form which makes it frustrating for somebody who came to an intermediate class.

This gym used to be classy. Now it's infested by drug dealers who use the change room as their own private "pharmacy".
Staff should really look into this. I've been in the change room multiple times over the last 4 weeks and each time there are some sketchy fellas dealing some sketchy drugs.
Will be canceling my membership soon if things don't change.

When me and mom came to visit the gym we wanted a tour but it was almost 10 pm, then this employee called Malcom decided to tour us and this tour that he gave convinced us to buy a membership.
