Every time that I go somewhere, I try to examine the environment around me because you never know when someone may attack you. People in society are suffering from various mental health issues and you cannot tell by physically looking at a person. On arriving to this Dollarama, I had absolutely nothing that I desperately needed, but there were a few things that I wanted to get so I didn’t get a cart and I just kind of like walked around the store. While I was in the store, a Caucasian white male upset yelling at an undercover employee because he was being followed around inside the store. In his rant, he mentioned that he frequented the Dollarama every couple of days and he was just there trying to collect some racecars. So as I’m walking around the store, I’m hearing this and I’m not really thinking much of it but then I recognize that now I am also being followed by a very well dressed Indian/asain male with a very nice haircut. You wouldn’t think that he was working for the store, but he is working for the store. He himself did not have a cart and was standing in the same spot at the end of the isle I was in. I was watching him because he was watching me and unfortunately it’s an uncomfortable experience to be in. It’s not a great experience for someone to be followed around in a store when all they’re doing is shopping. I understand that theft is high since covid because the cost of living and prices of items go up but please do not assume that every “black” or ”poor” looking person is a criminal. The truth of the matter is, if someone wants to steal, they are going to steal whether you follow them around or not. But making customers that are paying for items uncomfortable is a way to lose business. If you are not aware, there are multiple dollarama locations in the surrounding area of course with different franchise owners and different approaches to loss prevention.I would suggest you consider having your employee dress in normal clothing, get a cart and fill it with things that a typical customer would buy and not stand and stare at an object for 5 minutes while simultaneously looking down the isle at people that are actually going to buy things. I also did notice when I left the line to look at another item, the person who was in front of me lingered in front of the store front until I cashed out. Like the woman literally stand infront the exit until I paid and when I grabbed my things she walked out and I took my time to walk to my car and watched her and the store from far. Even after 5 minutes after she left the store and I packed my things away she was standing infront the store and watching me. If she was an employee, was she ready to be attacked by someone in self defense? Because that is something that is becoming more common in society as well. I may not be a person that would attack but you never know how desperate people would react when they feel they are threatened. Instead, again as another suggestion, she should of been cashing out at self checkout if I was standing in line waiting. Hopefully on my next visit if I do choose to entertain this location again I don’t have to “ pop off “ on anyone in self defense. Mental illnesses comes with a lot of aggression, just saying.

I will never go here again, absolutely felt unsafe and uncomfortable! I was yelled at soon as I entered the store by a Muslim lady, because I used my foot to open the door, with all the germs and disease's going around! I was absolutely horrified! And feared for me and my babies safety! She started yelling at me in front of everyone in the store very unprofessional in my opinion! And instead of helping me she let me struggle! She said do you not have hands? And what if I didn’t how else would she make someone feel like that! Never again will I go back stay safe everyone it’s getting bad out there! She also stood there not helping anyone else! They had to yell at her to help them! So bad this lady needs a sound lashing! See how she stands there! Felt so uncomfortable and feared my kids safety! P.S if I could give no stars I would, but had to give one to write a review

Such a thieve and rude staff.I gave two items to cashier for wrapping and forgot to pick at the end of shopping. When I went back after some time to pick, cashier was changed and they refused to give me items. I asked to check in the camera but they don't have any recordings for the customers.Absolute form of theft

It's Dollarama, the charges 8 cents a bag and dumb Eco fees that the company clearly keeps, what else is there to say.

The website says that the store is open until 10:00 p.m. on saturdays, this information is also reflected on Google Maps. Last night, Saturday 25 Nov, I visited the store slightly after 9:00 p.m. and the store was closedThe inventory split between this Dollarama and the Dollarama immediately across the street could be better managed. Why do they need two identical stories across the street from each other?
