We have been a customer for seven years and through the transition in ownership - we find their service to be competent and organized and friendly - when we once had a problem they went above and beyond to take care of us - we like the people - just today when we really needed a battery powered gas transfer pump and none in town the owner sold us his own pump to help us out - thank you for that - James and Liz

I bought a used outboard motor from here. I had my dad pick it up and deliver it to myself on a Friday. When I installed it I discovered it was missing parts for the controls so I was unable to get it going. Not a big deal I could pick up the parts the following week. Throughout the weekend the motor leaked so much oil into the lake that frogs were dying and washing up bloated. Feeling frustrated and unsatisfied with the motor I called and explained the issue and the person on the phone was apologetic and told me I could bring the motor back and exchange it for another used motor.When I brought it back I was told that it was sold as is and they were reluctant to help. When I told them about the oil and the frogs the mechanic laughed and said “the bass fishing will be better with less frogs”.They said it would be up to two weeks before they could exchange it for the other motor and would call me within a day or two. It turned out the lower unit had a bolt missing a gasket and that’s why it was leaking. They basically blamed me and said this is why they should install it.Fine, so I had my local marina deliver my boat to have them install it. I never heard from them so went it a week later at which point they told me they wouldn’t install it because the transom was rotten. (I have since had it inspected by another mechanic that said it is fine). I ask them if they would just put the motor in the boat so I could pick it up. They said they wouldn’t be able to do that till the following week Tuesday I said fine. I hired the marina to pick it up that Tuesday but they wouldn’t let them take it because I owed them $640. That’s right, $640 for them to unload my boat, tell me they couldn’t help me and load it back up. Then when I finally got my boat with the motor on top, they had it sitting in a way it leaked oil all over my boat.In the end this whole process took over a month. I use this boat as a barge for my business and access to my cottage.I am so unbelievably upset with the customer service here. I’ve worked in the service industry for a long time and worked as a small engine mechanic. I can’t believe a company would treat people like they did to me. I was always polite despite them being completely un helpful or accommodating. I wanted to support local but I would never spend a penny here again. I encourage no one to ever support this business. I think more than 6 times they said they would call me back and never did. They have no respect for the environment or customers.Thank you for nothing Northland,Charles

New owners seem nice and organized. Like everywhere now, they are struggling to get enough staff.Prices are very high, especially for storage. But no complaints about repairs or services.

Place is ridiculous. However, if you wanna waste all your money I totally recommend. I was charged almost 500 dollars for a tuneup which involved cleaning the carb and new spark plugs. Being one of the nearest and most convenient marinas, they take advantage of people with their pricing.

For me the jury is out on the new owners -been a long time customer of this place boat storage, repairs etc for years no issues. I called 3 times over the long weekend (starting Friday) -boat wouldn’t start and was looking for help-I understand that it’s a busy time with boat pick ups etc-and They told me as such BUT what is unacceptable is not getting a call back-service is one of the foundations of any businessI can’t believe they (new owner) since Friday of last week didn’t call to follow up!!! I waited until today to write this post to see if they called and crickets!! They just lost a long time customer
