Dog Idol
38 Buttonfield Rd, MarkhamI can't say enough good things about Dog Idol! My Cocker Spaniel was in desperate need of some TLC, with matted fur that I didn't think anyone could fix. The team at Dog Idol did an absolutely amazing job. They were incredibly gentle and patient, taking their time to carefully groom him without causing any stress.
Not only did they remove all the mats, but they also gave him the most adorable column legs! His coat is now silky smooth, and he looks so happy and comfortable. The attention to detail and the love they have for the dogs really shines through in their work. My pup came home looking like a new dog and with an extra spring in his step.
I will definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend Dog Idol to any dog owner looking for top-notch grooming services. We have tried a number of places in the area, they are more expensive and did not have good results. Dog Idol is simply the best!

Groom 'n' Style
2 Wignall Crescent, MarkhamOur veterinarian recommended this groomer to us and we are very grateful for it. They were both very friendly and welcoming from the start and really took an interest in the needs of our pups. We collected our eldest long coat chihuahua from them this afternoon and he looks amazing - a super cute cut! (Smells great too - we don't want to put him down)
Our main concern while finding a groomer was how they'd treat our pups - we've had instances with previous groomers/ businesses where our dogs seemed utterly traumatized when we collected them. After collecting our pup this afternoon, we can tell he was well treated and handled gently - he was very calm and relaxed (which for a chihuahua is especially impressive).

She is genuine, skilled & very fair in her pricing regardless of how much extra time she puts in to ensure the best end result. Our dog confirms to us he feels the same as he jumps for her when he sees her as apposed to running away! lol … Thank you Lupita for caring for our dog as if it were your own ??

Pet Care
Markham Veterinary Clinic
6605 Hwy 7 Unit 13/14, MarkhamWe found a stray cat, and the clinic was more than gracious to have us bring her in to check for a microchip.
They were kind, courteous, and very thorough in helping us in finding the contact information for the stray cat.
I can't comment on any other aspect or services of the clinic, but I can definitely say they are very hospitable to the clients that walk through their doors.

Unionville South Pet Hospital
4721 Hwy 7 Unit 1C, MarkhamI’m so grateful to have found such a caring and professional veterinary clinic for my two cats. As a first-time cat mom, I was nervous about making sure I was taking care of them the best way possible, but the team at this clinic made everything so much easier. They are incredibly attentive, offering detailed guidance that has really helped me feel confident in caring for my cats. A special thank you to Dr. Eve and Lilian for always remembering my fur babies and for treating them with so much love. The entire staff here is compassionate, thoughtful, and I couldn’t ask for a better place to bring my cats!”

B.P.M.
46 Cathedral High St, MarkhamFound this gem after checking other reviews! Not only do they serve excellent coffee, but they also showcase beautiful jewelry and pottery from local businesses, giving the place a charming, community-focused vibe. The menu is small, but they prioritize quality over quantity, offering great flavor and a range of alternative milk options like oat and soy. We ordered a cold Americano and a flat white, and I loved that they recommended we take a sip to taste before leaving, offering to adjust the shot strength if needed--a thoughtful touch that really stood out. I can see why other reviewers would call out the wait and feel like that's a negative point, but I wouldn't expect a place like this to pump out orders like chain cafes. When we arrived, the café was fairly quiet with only two other people inside, but by the time we left, all three tables were taken, and a small line had started to form. It's clearly a local favorite! If you're looking for great coffee, cozy vibes, and a shop that supports local artisans, this spot is worth checking out. Perfect for anyone seeking a peaceful break in a small-town atmosphere.

YGO Juice & Tea Lab
24 Nipigon Ave, MarkhamI hadn't been here in over two months and was excited to come back, but I was really disappointed. The quality has dropped a lot—tea and milk flavors were so weak, it tasted like it was watered down. The owner should focus more on the drink quality than the decor.

The Pho Restaurant
3150 Hwy 7 UNIT #1, MarkhamPicked up takeout from The Pho Restaurant tonight, ordering their vermicelli noodles with grilled lemongrass pork, beef, and chicken. The dish was a bit of a mixed bag—the beef, while lean, felt tough and lacked flavor. On the flip side, the pork and chicken were fatty and flavorful, which helped balance things out overall.
The takeout process was straightforward. I ordered online through their website and picked it up at the specified time, with payment handled in-store—quick and easy. One thing that caught my attention was that unlike other Vietnamese spots I’ve visited, this restaurant didn’t offer an option to select a single protein with the vermicelli noodles; the dish automatically included all three.
While I’m undecided on a full recommendation just yet, I’m intrigued enough to return and explore other dishes on their menu.

Chef 88 Elite Fine Dining 百樂軒海鮮酒家
1661 Denison St T1, MarkhamWe came for dinner as I was craving Peking duck and I must say, this is one of the best Peking ducks I've had in a while! Very juicy duck and I like how they separate each individual wrap so it's easy to take apart. They also gave a good amount of the sides and sauce which was nice. For the 2nd dish we decided to splurge a little and got the lettuce wraps. This was pricey but very enjoyable! We ended our dinner with the 3 free desserts they offer. Service was quick and polite. We were greeted at the door right away and they came back to check in on us. Granted, it was a Monday night so it wasn't busy that night. Overall, a little bit on the pricey end definitely an enjoyable meal.

Tanuki Restaurant
3160 Steeles Ave E Unit 1, MarkhamThe first time I wanted to try this restaurant, it was fully packed so I remembered to make reservation the second time around. There were lots of options and i settled for the dan dan udon and chicken karaage. The udon was ok and mild on the flavor. I had to add additional seasoning myself. My family also had a few other concerns on their dishes as well but the karaage was excellent. Service was great for me and the atmosphere is unique

Flavours of Unionville
155 Main St Unionville, UnionvilleThis is a nice quick ice cream spot in Unionville. The pistachio matcha ice cream is probably one of my favourite flavors ever! It was quick service. However, I feel it's a bit pricey for what it is: ice cream from a window. I would go back again if I'm in the area in the summer.
