I used to really enjoy the Carter’s store. I found it had a vast variety of things I especially like the hip-hop line that they carried staff. Usually let you do your shopping in peace and was there to answer any questions that you might have. However, most recently in the last two years, I find that the store doesn’t really have much to offer. Quality isn’t that great and selection is mediocre. I Often see the same sales associate whenever I go in (Which is not often) And she is not very helpful. In fact this Visit I found that she more came to speak to me because of the fact that she thought I might be taking something. or at least that’s how it seemed to me. I really enjoyed the store when it was Gymboree.

Went to return items I received as a gift. When returning them, the cashier was asking for my full name and email. I asked her if she was signing me up for their subscriptions and she said no they needed this info for the return. Next day I started receiving promo emails. Pretty sure this goes against CASL guidelines.

Staff were very helpful, sweet and kind. I visited the store to shop for newborn clothes as I am 37 weeks pregnant, suddenly I began to feel hot and light headed. The staff immediately sat me down and gave me water. I am incredibly greatful and I appreciate the amount of care and concern shown. Thank you so much!

I usually buy my kids clothes from here. The store is well merchandised. They have an Amazing customer service. The team is very friendly and helpful. Keep up the great work.

0/5 starsWalked in hoping to have a regular experience only to be profiled as a thief. Followed around the store by an associate, even moved to the other side of the store only to be followed again, literally she stood two meters away from me the whole time. Left to go to the store next door only to hear a phone call that associate was having of 'a suspicious shopper' with the same description as me. The associate, an acquaintance, informed that they suspected me.Came back later for the district/head office numbers, waited 5 minutes just for them to get the number. Asked the store manager if she realised what happened was wrong and she began to raise her voice and then threatened to call the police and security!Coming from a person who's worked in retail for nearly a decade I know there are ways around a situation like this - with proper training and procedures. This was racial profiling and essentially a defamation of character (contacting a store which they have no affiliation with, accusing me of theft). Completely unacceptable and I just wish for no one to experience this.Regardless the fact this all happened, the store was a complete disaster for having 5+ staff on site, poor customer service, and lack of common knowledge.

Avoid going here if you are are a person of dark colour, and a young adolescent. You will most probably be targeted and discriminated against as my family did.The associates followed my family member around the store no matter what department they were in. And then proceeded to call a neighbouring children's store (Okaidi) to warn them of a possible "shoplifter". Luckily the associate at the second store was a previous coworker and neighbour and informed us about this.Knowing full well this is not only targeted discrimination but a criminal offense in Canada as it is defamation of character to assume and report an innocent consumer and treat them as a criminal. Upon returning to Carter's I greeted an associate and asked for the number of their head office customer service and district manager. 7 minutes later I was approached by a different CSR (possibly the supervisor) and given the number without even an inquiry, greeting or concern as to my issue. So I informed her that what they did was target my brother as a suspect with no cause and it is discrimination. And she raised her voice and said that they were just fixing the shelves he was close to... (4 different shelves that he was coincidentally beside, the very second he moved to it, even if it was on the opposite side of the store) . I informed her and explained that what happened is wrong and instead she proceeded to threaten me saying she will call security and the police... "Do you want me to call the security and police?! I will call them!!" I said, "please do." I would have stayed until they attended if I didn't have a child to receive from school.Who does this to their customer for no reason? I did not raise my voice, I did not use profanity, I simply wanted to voice my concern and make her aware of the situation and give her the opportunity to right this wrong. She did not seem apologetic nor concerned. I was also purposely given the wrong store number by another CSR, the customer service representative at their head office informed me that they gave me a nonexistent number and we had to search for the correct store number via the postal code to file the report appropriately. This is an act of someone guilty of ethically wrongful behaviour. If you weren't at fault, then why lie?We also saw security go into the store, this was soon following my family member leaving due to feeling targeted and put in an unwelcoming environment.I have been a manager in retail for 12 years, and this was shocking to experience in this day and age.I have also worked in this mall previously for 4 years, you reported him as a shoplifter, and had called security to pursue him. I know the procedure.I willing be boycotting and ceasing my 4 years as a dedicated Oshkosh and Carter's consumer, and sharing this with my family and friends on all my social media forum. My Markham Mom Facebook groups will hear about this. No one should be discriminated in this manner.We have also reported this racial profiling to the local police.

Bad customer service. While many plp on que, the (one)cashier moves slow as turtle. And the other staff was ther re stocking things as is that's more priority then serving the customers already waiting in the que for long time.. the cashier was there dealing one customer for the longest time.
