They switched ice cream from Kawartha Dairy to one which they own, so sadly no more moose tracks. Also, the giftware section which was always so unique and interesting and cottagey has been reduced in size and apparently they might be getting rid of the section altogether. It would be nice if they would still stock items from local artisans who could show and sell their wares there.

Lots of interesting food stuff (cheese, meats, chocolate, etc) for fair prices. Super squeaky cheese curds and delicious hot dogs! Great service too!

The is one of three cheese factory outlets in the region with the other two being Empire Cheese and Mapledale Cheese. Ivanhoe offers the cheeses that are manufactured by Gay Lea in addition to milk, butter, sour cream, and cottage cheese. It is also a favourite spot to stop for cheese curds, hot dogs, cold drinks, and ice cream. The shop also offers all the fixings for a nice charcuterie. Don't forget to ask about the cheese ends if you are looking to save a bit of money.

Interesting spot in the middle of our road trip. We didn't buy any cheese curds but we did stop for grilled cheese. It was panini style (grilled on sour dough type of bread) a bit pricy but it was hot and fresh. I just wish they have different cheese option - more interesting ones.

Ivanhoe cheese is truly locally operated even though it's now owned by Gay Lee. And that's not a bad thing. GL let's Ivanhoe Cheese continue to operate at its high quality and great customer service levels. Locally operated by great people who care to give you their best. And their products are great too!
