This corner store has been a corner of the community for longer than i have been alive. Over the years our wonderful neighbors have changed, improved and expanded this charming store. Perhaps stop in and say "hello", especially if you are lost or not familiar with the area, as you are in good companyIF YOU ARE READING THIS, UNFAMILIAR WITH THE AREA and Valentia Store is closed , :0)Some might say, "being lost may help to guide being found" and in this guidance comes unexpected and wonderful "surprises". Also there has been a "few" people circling and doing "laps", and perhaps just needing a little knowledge and kindness.Therefore, BEWARE that "Washburn" Island and "Cottage Road" are, like the other seemingly endless loops in the area, loops which DO NOT traverse across Lake Scugog. A "few" end up driving laps, get lost and then, of course, never seen again. (presumably because they found the exit, but, at night if you listen closely you can still hear "the lost" driving laps JOKES)DIRECTIONS OUT OF THE LOOPSHead north on "Valentia Road", (turn right out of the parking lot, which is at back of Valentia store), and turn at the first left, after the stop sign at Valentia store, west, on "Ramsey Road" which is "Country Road 28", (there will not be a stop sign while heading north), and then travel down "Ramsey Road" until the road ends and you can only turn left or right on to "Simcoe Street" which is "Country Road 2". "Simcoe Road" will take you back south around Lake ScugogI hope this information helps in some way guide you safely to your destination with happiness and good health

I'm not sure why they have a Kawartha Dairy sign outside of their store advertising ice cream cones, when they don't have Kawartha Dairy ice cream. Kind of drove us into the store with false advertisement, as we were on way to the beach and stopped assuming we could get a scoop or two...
