I have been going to OK Tire on Clarke Road for 10 years. I’m baffled by the service I received on Tuesday.
My van’s engine light was on and needed a new thermostat. When I made the appointment, I told the receptionist the engine code and that the van most likely needed a new thermostat. Due to the location of the thermostat, I was unable to replace it at home.
OK Tire charged me an hour for diagnostics on a problem I already diagnosed. I’m not sure how it took them an hour, I was able to diagnose the problem in 5 minutes.
Plus, somehow while replacing the thermostat the belt tensioner broke. OK Tire was not able to put the broken belt tensioner back on and the van couldn’t run without it. My options were to allow OK Tire to replace the belt tensioner or tow my van to another shop.
The quoted cost was $780 and increased to $1170 with the belt tensioner. I could have replaced the belt tensioner myself and gotten the part much cheaper elsewhere.
I will not be returning to OK Tire. I was hoping this was a one off, but after reading the recent reviews it seems like multiple people have had negative interactions with this business.

Had to bring get my tire fixed and their customer service and professionalism was incredible. I appreciate their assistance since the tire was being a real hassle.

If they're good enough for the city's ambulances... The guys have maintained the Toyota Camry, Dodge wheelchair van and jeep wrangler. Fast, guaranteed service at reasonable rate. I've bought countless tires as well. Lower prices than most.

UPDATE: I was so appreciative that Jason from OK Tire called me to discuss the situation! I appreciate the time he took to investigate my concerns, to follow up with me, to chat with Maple City and acknowledging and rectifying the problem! We'll just chop it up to everyone having a bad Friday and my faith has been restored!
had vehicle fixed on friday afternoon, price quoted was 653, then needed a new caliper at the last minute. not sure why they didn't notice i had a seized brake after the brake inspection???? price then went to 1030. was able to pick up car, just before its closed, i thought it was 5pm, but he said 430. i live 2 minutes away, windows closed, air on, so all seemed okay. Then hubby took car out....windows open......sounded like something was going to fall off my vehicle. He was meant to be taking my car out of town but didn't feel safe driving it cause we had no idea what the horrible loud noise actually was. Needless to say, i went immediately at 8am on Saturday when they were supposed to open, by 815am, left cause no one showed up. Had to take my care to someone to look at because i really wasn't sure how safe it was to drive. Maple City Tire test drove it immediately and had it on the hoist within 20mins. Apparently someone forgot to connect the bar from the caliper to the frame. Maple City Tire bolted back together and i was on my merry way free of charge. Won't go back to OK Tire now, their customer service seems to be declining from when i first started taking our vehicles there years ago. the very least they can do is update their hours on their outgoing message.

I had an absolute great experience here unfortunately I had a couple issues in a short spam of time and John and Jay were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Especially being a woman a lot of people in the industry underestimate your knowledge on cars. They could have easily charged me up and done more than what I needed however they were fair and price was amazing! Thank you both I appreciate you!

I got some new, Toyo tires for my Hyundai, Had a great experience at ok tire, they we're very professional & efficient, got me in there a day early to get it done, they did a fabulous job, I do recommend this place to anyone & i will be back, for sure!!🙂

Fantastic experience all around. The staff behind the counter were very caring and helpful, the staff in the shop were friendly and knowledgeable…. They took great care in making sure my truck was fixed right and I was back on the road quickly. Whether you require tires, service, or repairs, they are the people to see. Don’t let the name fool you, they are a full service shop and definitely worth the trip.

Was greeted with a friendly smile and questioned with how can I help you. When I explains that my back tire was wobbling they immediately threw my truck on a hoist and fixed it They asked if I wanted the other 3 tires looked at and than fixed them for me as well. You see when I changed to my summers I forgot to remove the plastic centering hubs. They had me fixed up in about 20 min and didn’t even charge me for there time . God bless these people the world needs more of them Thank you OK Tire

Disappointed. I'm a repeat customer. My previous experience was very positive, but when I sent my son in for puncture repair things went sour. He was charged for 2 new tires and only received 1 tire installed. This is a FWD car and the single new tire was put on the back. I took his car back to the shop and the other new tire was sitting on the shop floor. No apologies or compensation given for this serious mistake. I hope the Technicians receive the training they need.
