I can't say that I have been a regular customer of Sportco, but as a Kitchener resident since 2000 I have purchased things here several times over the years. We went to look for skates for my wife tonight, she found a nice pair that fit our budget. I'm sorry that I don't know the gentlemans name that helped us but he has helped me previously and he is very helpful, friendly and patient with all of my questions. The rest of the staff was very helpful as well. I tried on some new hockey skates and I liked them, but for now I got my old ones repaired by Sportco. It's really nice to see an independant local store thriving in today's economy.

Great place with very knowledgeable staff. Has everything you need for a decent price. One of the best places to get your skates sharpened. Try to take advantage of their sales.

Customer service deserves a zero. If it weren’t for the fact that they are one of the few places you can go and get JR ranger apparel from I would never support this business. Sad considering it was once a great small business.

I bought a pair of Umbro soccer cleats from this store on October 17, 2023 and played soccer on Friday, October 20, 2023. Ten minutes into the game the sole of the shoes started to fall apart (attempted to add picture, but conveniently rejected by server) and I had to stop playing. On a closer inspection of the shoes I found a label on the inside stating that the shoes were manufactured in 2011, ... yeap, 12 years ago, so no wonder the sole was all brittle and broke apart.I went to the store today (Saturday, October 21, 2023) to return the shoes and get my money back and I was told that I can only receive an in-store credit or a replacement. I paid real money on my shoes and therefore I want real money in return. I do not need anything else from your store and definitely not another pair of cleats from a store that sells old/ancient merchandise. Moreover, at the time of buying the shoes I was not informed about your store policies and the receipt does not include any information regarding returns. So practically you misinformed the client by withholding information at the time of selling the goods.Since this is the only reply I got from the store (customer rep talked to the manager), which seems to contravene with the Sale of Goods Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. S.1 with respect to private businesses being obliged to provide full return for defective products, I reported the issue to Consumer Protection Ontario (Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery) and to Better Business Bureau. And since I missed a soccer game that costs me $15/week and wasted gas (~$5) driving for nothing to your store today, I asked to get reimbursement for these, too. I truly hope to receive my money back soon, as I will definitely take this to a media and legal level if needed. I am also pretty sure Umbro might want to hear about how your business devalues their brand, which is next on my list this week.Business like this should not exist in Ontario.
