A friend and I attended this Hudon's Bay location for the first time recently. I have shopped at Bay outlets for many years, particularly at the Waterloo location. My rating of 4 is for The Bay in general, and for the Fairview store for being clean and well organized. The escalators weren't working, which happens from time to time, but what I found odd was the overall atmosphere of the place. It was eerily quiet, and without any overhead music. We were the only two in the lower level, as far as we could tell....and all of that seems a shame, as it's the last departmental store around. We got the impression, regardless of assurances that may arise to the contrary, that this was a retail location in trouble. I sincerely hope not, and perhaps on our next visit the atmosphere in the store will be a little livelier.

My last visit was with a younger staff member who refused to give me an exchange on a product that didn’t fit the person it was purchased for. She seemed very crude and stuck up. However the makeup and perfume sales team is well trained and professional.

If I could give zero stars, I would! I’ve experienced the worst customer service here. I ordered a sectional couch in store on September.28th and was told that it would be Delivered on December.7th, which I was okay with. On December.6th, I received a curtesy call regarding my home delivery that was scheduled for December.7th. On December.7th i took the day off work because they said that the delivery was between 8am-6pm EST. NOBODY SHOWED UP! I called customer service at 6:30pm and was told that due to “Capacity issues”, the courier didn’t load the couch on their truck for delivery. If I didn’t call, nobody would have told me, which is so ridiculous.They then proceeded to tell me they don’t know when they’ll be delivering the couch, that I should wait 3 business days to get an answer. What kind of statement is that? Totally unacceptable. I called again on December.8th to escalate this, they told me they don’t know when I’ll receive my couch, that I should just look out for their call or email. I currently do not have a couch that I paid for and no scheduled delivery due to their incompetency. DO NOT ORDER ANY FURNITURE FROM THIS PLACE! The worst experience ever and super unprofessional.

I always browse when I walk through here. They have lots of stylish clothes and nice designer names for a reasonable price when on sale.
