I love Root because it is Canadian, and has a store DT :D
I haven't purchased much from there in recent years due to financial limitations but this fall I decide to treat myself to some new comfy items.
On one visit when I wasn't feeling like trying on clothes, I asked about the return policy if I brought them back with tags. It was kindly explained to me so I proceeded to purchase regular price track pants.
On my 2nd visit while I was walking by, I knew that the 1st pair I purchased was too small but I didn't have them with me to "exchange" for a larger size. Instead I went in and asked AGAIN about the return policy and purchased the larger size.
My 3rd visit, I had the pair I needed to return in the original ROOTS bag, I was wearing the size that fit me and offered to have a "new" staff member process my return so that he/she could learn.
The manager conducted the "training" for the return and it was the WORST return interaction I have had in retail :(
I understand that when a customer return items it affects your "bottom line" but I feel that Roots return policy is fair and honest and you were disgruntle because I needed to return an item that was too small for me.
I will NOT be shopping with Roots anytime soon and I wish I hadn't taken the tags off the other items (sweater and hoodie) or I would return them too out of principle.
Please don't let the "numbers" of your business affect how you treat the humans that are customers. Take care of yourself & others :D

Lance and Abby are the best! They helped us out with finding a specific size jacket up north and called the other location to reserve it. Very happy with the service!

Got a nice brown belt leather from there and some comfy track pants, I have a lovely striped summer dress from there that got holes in it only year after wearing it. Be careful when shopping. Some of clothes are well made but some a cheaply made and fast fashioney/flimsy. You can never go wrong with anything leather from there though. Store people there are hit or miss.

Friendly, helpful staff. Store on Princess St has beautiful stone floors and a great layout; easy to find what you’re looking for. Well made, good quality products.
