I don’t usually post reviews, but I had quite a negative experience with the passport photo service and the customer service at this UPS store, so I thought I’d share.
Back in September, I went in for a passport photo. There was a small line, which wasn’t a problem since I had time and didn’t mind waiting. After about 20 minutes, it was finally my turn. The worker took my photo a couple of times, but each time there was a bit of shine on my forehead that wouldn’t pass passport requirements. When I asked if they had any tissue or even toilet paper I could use to dab my forehead, he said I’d need to BUY something from a nearby store? I found it surprising that there was NO tissue or anything available in the entire store. Even after I asked for some, he looked like it wasn't his problem and he didn't care. I didn’t think it was considerate of him to make me leave the line, especially since there were people behind me, and I’d have to wait all over again. Not good customer service at all.
Still, I went to the store next door, got some napkins, dabbed my face, and waited in line again. This time, he took the photos and handed them to me after I paid, without saying much. When I went to my ServiceCanada appointment (after a 30-minute drive), my photo was rejected. I returned to the UPS store for a free re-do, as they had mentioned, only to find out that their passport photo printing machine was NOT working? Unfortunately, I’d lost my original receipt (on me, I know), but I had proof of payment on my credit card and their stamp on the back of the photo. I hoped they’d offer a refund, but the guy at the counter said he couldn’t help without the original receipt. I was disappointed – now I was out $22, and I still didn’t have an acceptable photo. The worker looked at me with a blank, disinterested expression, which added to the frustration. He just could not care less about me or the situation, even though they basically robbed $22 from with without offering any suggestions or even offering to call me when the machine was working again?? Just very, very poor customer service.
I ended up getting my passport photo done for free at CAA, and they provided MUCH better customer service (they even had oil-absorbing face pads readily available for customer use). I highly recommend going to CAA for passport photos instead!
I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 because, the worker was patient with a crying baby trying to get passport photos in the line ahead of me.

I really don’t know where the good reviews come from. I took an electronic ID photo, but the receipt turned out to be irregular and very unprofessional. I suggest that those who take PR and passport photos should not come here. The photos are not good either. I won’t say which clan did it, you know.
