They have a rat maze leading you to 6 checkouts but only 1 is ever open leaving a long lineup of people try to pay for their purchase or just trying to get to the exit to leave empty handed out of frustration with their lack of staff.
Avoid the hassle and just order what you need online.
It’s just not worth the frustration.

Automotive service is a joke. I made a reservation for an oil change and seasonal tire change on a Thursday for the following Monday at 9AM. I was asked the usual questions about the vehicle which was fine. When I went for the appointment on the Monday I was 1st advised that the appointment had been changed to an hour later to 10AM, now that may not be a problem for retirees or business owners but us working people have to keep up schedules and need to advise our managers about unschedule time changes. So right off the bat I got my manager pissed to the fact that I now would need 3hrs off. Next the service clerk starts asking me the very same questions I already answered the week prior while making the appointment so I ended up losing even more time. The clerk finally goes to the oil shelf to pick up a gallon of oil to which I asked what was that for? She advised me that they do no have oil in bulk and that she could not tell me how much oil my vehicle takes so she would give the gallon to the on duty mechanic who will need to search how much oil is needed for my vehicle and that I would take what's left home with me. Now does that sound like the usual oil change to you??
I cancelled the appointment on the spot and returned to work. 2 days later and after work, I found a much more professional business in the next town who happened to cost me $40 less then Canadian Tire and I did not have to take a gallon of oil home. Not impressed at all with CT in Hanmer, ON.

Staff at this store are unreasonable, very rude and returns are not honoured without a fight. Thankfully, a phone call to the corporate customer team immediately made it right (thank you). I don't recommend shopping at this store until significant retraining is done.

Just went in to the parts department and the lady that was serving me as I was buying a battery I gave her my status card she put my info in the system and still charged me all the tax. When I went back in she said I had to go to customer service desk so I went there and they sent me back to the parts department as the manager (Brandy) was meeting us there to fix it so she refunded me so I asked for the receipt back as she just thru it in the garbage and said very rudely that it belonged to Canadian tire so then the parts lady was doing the transaction over and I said wait a minute if I was refunded then why didn’t I have to put my visa back thru the machine to get refunded the lady at the parts department agreed with me and then she tried and tried to get ahold of the manager (Brandy) but she won’t pick up after like 15 minutes she finally answered back and said that it was voided again very rudely so now the lady at the parts department gave me the old receipt and then proceeded with the new transaction with the tax off. The lady at the parts department couldn’t apologize enough for her mistake but as for the manager (Brandy) if you don’t like your job then quit and find one that you will be happy with. The lady at the parts department was good. The manager (Brandy) needs to be fired as you are going to lose a lot of customers if she continues to be the manager (Brandy) and it shows the other employees that they can be very rude like her. I will never return to this Canadian tire as long as she is the manager(Brandy) I will drive to town before I go back there

Brutal customer service, a little heads up on what is happening with your vehicle when a little hiccup happens and may be a bit longer. If not for going after lunch to make sure it would be done, we would be car less for the weekend as not open.
Live like 2 minutes down the road, last straw will never step foot in there again. Will drive into the Canadian Tire in town if needed. Other stores around with same stuff.

Had an issue with this store not wanting to honour Canadian Tire's price protection policy due to it being purchased at a different franchsie. After some insistence, the manager eventually honored the price protection policy, albeit with a rude demeanor. However, the initial resistance and insistence that franchises were separate entities not unified under the brand was frustrating. Consistent adherence to company policies from the outset, coupled with respectful customer service, would prevent such unnecessary frustration for customers.

Manager was very snarky with condescending comments and interrupting explanations - then realized what I was asking was legitimate when he finally let me explain - never going here again

Rude customer service at the desk, rude manager, Took the owner to come out and make it right. Could’ve all been avoided. This is why I shop in sudbury it’s no questions asked there. I like to support local hammer but they make it tough at this store.
