I really appreciate the people who work hard at making this store a success. Their prices are more than reasonable! Their knowledgeable and experience both in and out of the store is exemplary. They don’t try to sell you a pet to just make a buck. They will try to make sure you understand what you are getting yourself into. I got my two conures from them and they are happy and in good health! I always go back to them when I need anything; including grooming. If I ever need to find a place to board them, I know my babies will be in good hands with them.

Cannot express enough how impressed I am with this store! Super helpful staff, great selection of items! Today I went in to get feeders for my tarantula sling and came across an absolute stunner of a rose hair tarantula hanging out in an enclosure at their cash register, and couldn’t resist her! So excited about my beautiful new friend. I can tell she was well loved in her time with you and I’m thrilled to give her a great home ?

I Can't say enough about the wonderful experiences I have had at the shop. The owner and staff are so knowledgeable and caring. They are there for me always with any support I need. I have 11 parrots all from the urban zoo! I trust them with grooming all of my birds. And I can always get everything I need for supplies. They also have an amazing selection of small animals and reptiles. An interesting place to visit and you can trust the staff, to be honest. Recently I have started shopping online on their website fantastic experience.

Some cool birds and reptiles to see! Staff is super friendly and helpful!! There is a bird with one foot that talks to you and is super sweet!

The staff at this store are fantastic—very welcoming and attentive. However, the location is quite small, making it difficult to find specific pet supplies. While they carry an abundance of supplies for various animals, the selection of reptile supplies is unfortunately limited. Despite this, they do a great job of stocking the basic necessities for animal care, which is helpful for those in need. The overall pricing is on the higher side, especially considering the limited selection. Additionally, many feeders are more expensive compared to other local stores. While the staff’s excellent service is a strong point, the store’s small size and higher prices are notable drawbacks.

I hadn't stopped in since the store moved and got a new owner but always loved the quality of products. The owner is so wonderful and knowledgeable about pets and the items in the store
Ive been at a loss of where to get good toys for my degus and walked away with 2 wooden parrot toys that my girls love. The price was great for how long theyll last.
Thank you again, will definitely be back!

I went into the store with my daughter and the girl with the red hair was so lovely and patient with her! She brought out the guinea pigs for her to pet. My daughter was over thr moon! The customer service in this place is amazing!! I highly recommend for all your pets needs!

If I could give more than five stars I would! The Urban Zoo is a great place to visit and shop everyone that works there is extremely knowledgeable and really cares about the animals that reside their temporarily while they wait for loving forever homes. It is great to see a local pet shop that takes the time to educate their visitors they have never steered me wrong!

WORST experience. Lost $2000 sale. Young lady with red hair was extremely hostile, pushy and heard her scream at customer from across the store, while dealing with another customer. Came in looking for 2 new bird cages as our family is looking to get a Conure, we are from out of town so wanted to check out Hamilton reptile stores. Very disappointed with their customer service. Just by seeing the way they treat some customers,will never be returning.

BEST experience every time I come here!! They have some of the most knowledgeable people in the city! Alanna is the best when it comes to all your pets needs, she has never steered me wrong when it comes to my animals. I love seeing the store birds so much but so sad to witness people not listening to the workers when trying to pet or stick their fingers in the cage when it comes to their own safety or the safety of the animals. 10/10 recommend this store to everyone shopping in the Hamilton area!!

Went to this store today with the plan to purchase a new big cage for my Conures and new toys. I’ve kept Parrots for over 20yrs. Had some teenage girl accuse me of “sticking my fingers in a bird cage” from 8 feet away.. Will not make a purchase like that at a store with employees like that! Rude disrespectful and wrong plain and simple. The older lady seemed very friendly I hope she isn’t the owner cause that’s just bad business!

I love stopping by to get my pups some cod skins. We always get our bird food from here. Jenna also trims our conure's beak, claws, and tail feathers. We love chatting with José and Lady while we wait.

i got my two guinea pigs from here, my rabbit had just passed away so i was looking for a hamster but the manager had me falling in love with the guinea pigs! she helped me so much, let me visit them before i was able to pick them up, taught me everything i needed to know and i am forever greatful for her!

Great shop, friendly and knowledgeable staff. They were great with my bird and did a tremendous job trimming her nails and beak. Will be coming back!
