The service at Russell’s is always outstanding. We called Jason on short
notice, he took our vehicle in the next day and had it fixed in a timely manner. Many times he has fixed our vehicle on no notice or short notice. The price is always fair and he often times gives us a deal where he can. When we came to Hamilton we didn’t know who to trust. We were referred to Russell’s and been going there ever since. I highly recommend these guys to anyone. They are very friendly and good natured people. Never had any issues with the work that has been done also.

I got my brakes and tire alignment done and ever since my tire hits the body of the truck. This didn’t happen before I got the wheels aligned. I told Ken about it. He told me there’s nothing they can do. Now there is a hole in my truck from the tire rubbing on the body
Russel auto also install a high-pressure oil pump on my truck and now the pressure is too high. It shoots oil out of the phaser connections.
I also got my timing chains done at Russel Automotive and they completely messed it up My engine is running worse than before I brought it in and they will not fix the issue. They’ve replaced solenoids three times claiming that that was the issue. It is still not solved, and they are no longer willing to warranty the vehicle and the original job was not done properly causing damage to the engine of my truck would not recommend anyone get engine work done at this shop. They don’t back up their work once there is a problem, they just ignore you

I’ll preface this by saying I have a decade of work experience in automotive service for VW and BMW. I’m not saying I know everything, but I do have a wealth of knowledge about repairs and the industry.I brought in my VW here on two separate occasions as I was looking for a reputable private shop close to home to complete some repairs. The first visit was a routine job - replace rear pads and rotors & replace hand brake cables that had snapped. The second I received my vehicle back I could feel the adjustment of the handbrake was way off and was very stiff. Upon further inspection by myself, I identified that the passenger rear hand brake mechanism was completely seized and dragging on the brand-new rotor. I disassembled myself in my driveway during the winter to lubricate the mechanism and reassemble - problem solved. I am dumbfounded how the car left the shop like this… I would've had no problem paying for a new mechanism if recommended. To add to it, when taking apart the interior center console I noticed your technician broke all the clips to my rear HVAC vent. I know this wasn’t broken before bringing it in as I’ve personally had it apart on a previous occasion. The only reason I brought the vehicle into this shop was because I didn’t have the time to compete this work myself, and I don’t enjoy laying on ice cold concrete outside in my driveway. No longer working in the car industry or close to my former workplace, I thought it would be convenient to work with a private shop within walking distance from my home. I didn’t bring this issue up with my advisor, Ken. I let it slide as I just didn’t have time to bring the car back, organize a rental, and leave the car there for an issue that was already fixed. The second visit, I know… shame on me right. My car was towed-in as the clutch slave cylinder failed and the car was un-drivable. I got a call from Ken who advised we replace the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder, and bleed the system - pretty standard job. I agreed to do so, and it was what I expected to be the issue. I received my car back and the following day I experience a major safety issue. Luckily was driving at slow speed in town and not on the highway. From what I can gather, air was introduced into the brake system from the main reservoir when your technician bled the new clutch master and slave. The reservoir is shared between brake and clutch, there is no secondary reservoir for the clutch only. Air must have been introduced to the system and worked its way into the ABS pump causing an intermittent NO BRAKES situation. I needed to swerve off the road, crash up onto the sidewalk on Barton St, narrowly avoiding a collision with another vehicle and a telephone pole. My 2-year-old daughter was in the vehicle with me at this time. This incident occurred on a Friday and the shop was already closed for the weekend. I contacted a former coworker and friend who is a certified BMW technician and we inspected everything for damage or improper installation, we did not identify anything obvious and decided to completely re-bleed the clutch and brake system. Since doing this I’ve had no issues whatsoever.I contacted Ken and he told me to bring the car back for them to inspect. At this point I wasn’t confident in letting any technician at your shop safely work on my car, so I declined. Ken also argued with me that my vehicle has separate fluid reservoirs for the brakes and the clutch and he was “looking at the diagram right now”- An outright lie. Ken then said, “leave it with me and I’ll call you back to make this right”. I never heard back from Ken and didn’t bother following up.Long story short, if you want to spend your hard-earned money here and have your car returned in an unsafe operating condition, then this is the place for you. My suggestion is to go elsewhere or pay the extra premium at the dealership where an actual professional will work on your car.
