“I had to come here and shout out Sergio for a top shelf experience. This gentleman really was so lovely with my 2 year old. He helped her try on different skates until she finally said she liked a pair. It’s obvious they probably all felt the same-ish and she ended up picking the ones she thought looked the best in the end, but he was so lovely and patient and treated her as he would any other customer. When she said she didn’t like them, he asked her what felt off about them. He wasn’t bothered when she didn’t have an answer to that. He didn’t pleadingly look at me to see if we would just take them - because she’s just a kid, what does she know? He kindly offered for her to pick out another pair to try on. He never once put what she said aside. It was amazing to watch them work together to find the right skate.

He must have had her try on 10 different helmets to make sure we got the right one. Again just so incredibly patient and kind. And she loved every single moment of it.

He helped her picked out a hockey stick. Again, so patient when she rejected the first three options for absolutely no reason :) We were waiting for it to come back from being cut from the back, and he came all the way to the front of the store so that she could pick out the colour of the tape for her stick. He could have gotten away with picking one for her and not saying anything, but he didn’t.

This was my girl’s first skates, first hockey stick, first helmet, and first experience buying them. These moments are not transactional, they are experiences for her. Sergio, I want you to know the positive impact you had on my girl’s (and my own) experience. I am very grateful. Your way with kids (and people) is exceptional and authentic. Don’t ever change it. I’ll find more excuses to bring my girl by to say hello. Thank you.
