Not a store to buy shoes. There is no one around to help. I gave up this time and went to Sail to buy my shoes. Where there are people to help. In the past I have waited for 15 minutes and then had to go to cash to get someone. Even though this store is closer I will continue to support Sail for the service. (The shoes were $5 less as well)

Has some good selection if you go in there knowing what you want or can grab it yourself. However, customer service/assistance needs improvement. I stopped trying to get hiking boots as the employees avoid the area or hide in the back as soon as you walk into the footwear section. A suggestion maybe would be a call button.

I ordered a climbing harness and it arrived with the bag and box ripped and all the tags torn off. The item was clearly returned and was still sent out. Considering this is something that is a life-saving device I expected a lot more. So disappointed in the store and customer service. Update - After making the bad decision to purchase from atmosphere online once more, I again received a pair of shoes that were very clearly worn and not new. Their customer service decided to offer a $50 cresit that they never sent. Don't waste your time and money.

Had to kill some time in downtown Guelph so I decided to check out Atmosphere/SportChek in the Stone Road mall to do some shopping for the holidays. Had a few things in mind but was just looking around to see what grabs my interest. I picked up a hat and kept looking in the store. I then noticed a secret shopper (Loss Prevention) following me around the store, watching my every move with a earpiece in. It made me feel very unwelcome and harassed, I ended up buying some merchandise (over $100 worth) but I won't be coming back. I don't appreciate being tailed closely while I shop, and it felt as though I was forced out of the store when I still wanted to shop. Very disappointed as I was treated like a criminal and profiled as a paying customer.

I visited this unique store for the first time recently and purchased some high quality camping gear that I was surprised to find in Stone Road Mall. Although most items in this store seem to be more expensive than I would expect, my overall experience was positive. The staff members working were polite, professional and willing to help.

Neat and orderly. Great merchandise. Pleasant staff. Prices through the roof. Annoyingly long wait at checkout. Free parking. Floor space shared with (i.e. flows through to) Sport Check.

The store is lovely, but the layout is poor. Went looking for a winter coat, couldn't even find ladies coats for the cold. Maybe I was a bit early in the season.
The staff here makes me feel unwelcome, but I like the store brand as a whole.

Took forever to find any help, and the help was absolutely useless. We told her exactly what we were looking for, had to repeat it and even spell it for her. Then she asked if it was children's that we were looking for when we had already told her twice that it was a woman's XXL that we wanted. We were told that they don't make it in this size. Funny, the manufacturer lists it in stock. Atmosphere was a total waste of time.

I've visited this location three times in the last month, each time hoping there would be some improvement. No customer service whatsoever. I knew what I wanted, I got it, I paid, and I left. The cashier on my most recent visit was very polite and friendly, but the rest of the staff has no interest in greeting or serving customers. It's clear they don't work on commission or care about sales. Small wonder online sales are booming.
