I was in today. Three of the employees didn't speak. Didn't give me my receipt. At least one employee wished me a Merry Christmas. Only at a monopoly.

Sheri was extremely kind and helpful! She helped me in selecting a white wine based on my preferences and she was so knowledgeable so I trusted her recommendation. Needless to say, she was spot on! Very happy with the service here!

I asked if I could throw out my coffee cup and they made me feel like a villain. Not one garbage can in the place.. of course I have to ask. I was told that was on purpose and they don’t collect people’s garbage. Like I brought in a full bag or something.
I could have just left it on the shelf if I wanted to be a jerk.
Not sure the staff knows what their tag “customer service representative” means.

if you’re biracial or LGTBQIA+ DONT COME HERE. you will be followed around the store and then have an army of employees waiting at the register waiting to ID you and your openly queer partner when, before covid, people with you did not need to present ID (at least pre 2019)
we were walking around with my friend (who looks underage naturally, and did not get ID’d, which I made sure to bring to their attention) and we were talking about what we liked and didn’t like to drink. me, having been hospitalized a few years prior was explaining what certain alcohol did to my digestive issues (IBS & Colotis) as I then noticed we were being followed and watched by some short underage looking employee in the cooler section of the store.
the end of our shopping trip comes, we get to the register where all the employees are standing, leaving my friend to be in and out and not carded within minutes because the other cashier was too busy paying attention to the openly homophobic and racist treatment my girlfriend (yes, lesbians) and i we’re getting.
i put my stuff up, before saying hi hello or anything i was asked for my ID, no worries here you guys go. basically ignored, the tall grey haired elderly manager immediately asks my girlfriend for hers. again, last time we were at an LCBO was 2018 and i brought her with me then too, she didn’t need to be carded, and so i was confused.
we were then told that the child-like looking worker who stalked us around the whole store told the woman questioning us that my girlfriend is underage and we were talking about getting crazy and partying. to reference before, i was an at the time 24 year old talking openly about my digestive issues, that somehow translates to wild partying??? like be so for real.
it’s been years since we’ve been back, Sobeys across the road however has always been nice and kind and never harasses my girlfriend for her ID… HMM… and again speaking as a biracial queer woman DO NOT GO HERE. elaborate lies made up to try and get anybody “not like them” out of the store.
also maybe hire someone of colour and maybe part
of the LGTQBIA+ community to not fit the stereotype of Grand Bend.
will never forget walking out not buying anything but also not failing to give everyone a piece of my mind <3

Sheri our cashier was amazing and very helpful with recommendations of good drinks on sale. We were only visiting for the weekend with a girls weekend gathering! Great recommendation Sheri! I came back the next day and bought a flat and brought my friends!! You were there then too and cashed us out!! Great service!! Thank you!
