“Went in twice in the last 4 months, and both times we were welcomed very well by their sales representatives. I never felt like they were pushy and trying to get a sale, I really felt like they wanted to help us find exactly what we were looking for, and both times, they did exactly that! Their warranty is also super awesome, if you get it and don't use it, you get that money back as a store credit when the 5 year warranty is over. It would be silly not to get it, everybody wins!”
“When we bought our condo, we were committed to working with a design team that would help us build a home that we would love to come home to after work and travel, that we could entertain in, and that reflected our lifestyle. We wanted to work with a team that would be open to incorporating some artwork and furniture that was special to us, and offer us guidance and advice on how to make the most of our budget and achieve an aesthetic that reflects our lives now and will evolve with us over time.We appreciated the time that Sacha spent with us at the outset to ensure that we were a good fit for each other. She asked the right questions to understand our way of communicating, our expectations, the way we interact with our living space, and what kind of style would reflect our personalities and experiences.That effort proved essential when the COVID-19 pandemic came along and presented all of us with unforeseen shortages, delays and other issues. The WoM team communicated any new information clearly and promptly, with compassion. We appreciated that they always put our needs first, with kindness- even though they themselves were also navigating an unprecedented impact on their business. Thanks to their positive, solution-oriented attitudes, we found creative ways to get through it with patience —and the end result was worth the wait!By hand-measuring every square inch of our space, the WoM team was able to choose furniture and decor that made the most of our space, that was the right scale and size, and made the most of every sight line. There are no bad angles in our home- it looks amazing from every perch!Understanding that every project and budget requires making trade offs and decisions, the WoM team was so helpful in making recommendations to us of where to splurge and where to save. What to keep, and what to change. What to customize and what to prioritize. They gave us options to consider, and every time- their recommendation was the best one to achieve our goals.We would highly recommend West of Main to anyone who wants to make their house a home through a design and decor plan. All of their designers are highly experienced and skilled, and our project lead Anna quickly became a trusted and reliable partner to us. All aspects of our project were managed with attention to detail, and professionalism. The team delivering and installing furniture and decor was no exception- particular attention was paid to ensuring things were done right the first time.Some lessons learned for us that might help future clients: if you think you want to work with West of Main, call them early! We called as soon as we had a possession date. That meant we were able to plan dates for the team to see the space, spend a day taking measurements, and start sequencing the logistics of the plan. Secondly, communicate your needs and wants clearly and early. We realized that what we thought we wanted in one space wasn’t clicking for us—because we communicated openly, the design plan was changed before anything was ordered or finalized. It turned out to be our favourite space! Finally, trust the experts—the WoM team is best placed to choose the right shape, size, colour, texture to make your space beautiful with intention. Like us, you will be grateful you stuck to their advice!”

So happy with the quality of the product but also the install and professionalism. The gentleman who came to measure and install were fantastic! We've had our counters in about a month. “There"re two Fabricland stores in Ottawa area. One is in Ottawa, and the other one in Orleans.I visited both, and what a difference! Like two different planents they are!The one in Orleans is so clean, well organized; their staff is very friendly, helpful, and they all look happy. The place has wonderful energy!Frankly, I didn't find ANY of the above in the Ottawa store; in fact, I left there quite unhappy promising myself to shop somewhere else next time. So, if you need to shop at Fabricland I suggest the Orleans' one. They also have a better choice of fabrics and accessories, and it's easier to find what you are looking for.”

“I went to the store on two separate occasions and on both occasions I had a wonderful experience. The person who made my experience wonderful was the clerk was working on both occasions. She was a beautiful dark skin thin young lady… I’m really sorry I forgot your name! I am from Ottawa and when I travel I always buy gifts there to bring to my friends are abroad. The first time I bought smoked salmon in a wooden box with Inuit art on it. The second time I bought two bottles of large maple syrup with some maple butter. The young lady who’s served me was so pleasant and patient with me. She even googled for me if it was allowed to bring smoked salmon on a plane. She made pleasant conversation with me and when I bought the maple syrup she went through the effort of wrapping them carefully so they don’t break when I put them in my luggage. The store is beautiful. They have amazing beautiful souvenirs and artwork. There is another store downstairs not affiliated to them but just not as good. I did compare the prices and although this store is much more high end,the prices are much better. Not to mention they have way better things. More creative and beautiful things. I was looking everywhere in Ottawa for the smoked salmon with the Inuit art on the box. I was very stunned when I found it at the store but pleasantly surprised. To the young lady working at the counter again I am sorry I forgot your name but you are amazing. From now on I know where to go to buy my souvenirs from Ottawa.”
“Came to buy stools and forgot my measuring tape. They had one just for people like me. I wanted to try a stool that was on the top shelve, no issues. When we went to order, they didn't have 4 at the store but were able to order it to another store that I was traveling by later that day. The other location had the items at the front, and it was a quick show of receipt, and then I was off.”

At first I was disappointed that the staff are unable to give recommendations on cutting lengths, but given how many customers in other reviews have used this against them it makes sense that they don’t want to be liable. They have however given me several inches(up to half a meter!) more material than what I paid for each of my visits!! So I can’t complain!!

“I went to return a sweater here after a fraudulent charge had shut down my debit card and I had to get a new one. The staff was very apologetic because they could only give me store credit since I didn’t have the original card used for purchase. The guy was training a new staff member but still was super nice, quick, and considerate. The girl being trained seemed eager to learn and happy to be there. The manager (light curly hair, super down to earth) came to help me out and she was super sweet, explained their policy and walked me through why my suggested solutions weren’t allowed in the nicest way possible. she let me know to keep her updated with my situation haha because it REALLY sucks to be frauded. The only reason i was returning the sweater is so i wasn’t flat broke. so basically I have store credit for christmas gifts, better than nothing. I’ll definitely be back to this location once i actually have money.”
