Saks, how can you run a business and be successful? Here’s my story.
Yesterday at 6:40pm, I entered the Etobicoke Saks Off 5th to store to try on and purchase (jeans) one item. I quickly found my size, went to the change room which was sealed off with a strap across the fitting room therefore telling customers the change room is closed. At around 6:45 someone spoke into the PA System who could barely speak English and I assume they were telling customers the store was closing. I proceeded to pay and was I informed that they no longer accept Saks gift cards. Okay I get that and didn’t know this changed. I asked if they still accept a Saks credit card. There are now 3 people behind the counter and I was told they would need to check with the office which is now closed. Needless to say I left. Saks, who are you hiring? Friends of friends who can barely speak English and have had no obvious training. Where are your managers?

Saturday july 20 between 5 and 6 PM. 5 of your employees were standing at the front of the store chatting. There were several customers in the store including myself but no on asked any of us if they could assist us. They didn’t even seem to be talking about work. Where is management????

Probably one of the most dead locations with a manager who never smiles or knows customer service. Lots of young peeps working here who are somewhat the saving grace but the manager is just bitter, and rude.

I went to this mall last 3 day and I buy perfume from saks fifth Avenue Maison francis kurkdgian paris baccarat rouge for $800 and i went today morning just to switch to another one they said no and go away we can’t who said that the manager she’s like the baby just saying no no no I’m spending every month there $2000 after that they took me outside the store that’s really bad when you spend $1000 there and they trade you like that

Love Saks, but my wallet disagrees with my shopping sprees. Yet, I end up with a gorgeous bag and the pockets to hold it. The stellar customer service makes it feel like home. While it's a transactional relationship, it's tough making friends in Toronto—no bikes or dogs for me. Saks brings back memories of my time in the US, and I hope to return soon. The merchandise selection is dwindling, and we're all speculating about Saks leaving Canada. It's a lifestyle we can't quite afford anymore. Still, I'll support this American gem until it heads back home. If Holt Renfrew can survive, why not Saks?
