Have been a loyal customer of Oak and Fort at Sherway Mall for many years, but my recent experience was extremely disappointing. The staff, particularly the manager (Asian background with long dark hair), was incredibly rude and unhelpful.I was trying to return an item i purchased with store gift card, and she didn’t even bother checking the receipt properly, which led to a lot of confusion. She mistakenly thought my payment method was a Visa gift card and refused to process the return to store credit. Despite my explanation, she insisted I needed a physical Visa gift card to complete the return, which was not the case. Her lack of knowledge and unwillingness to listen made the entire experience frustrating and time-consuming.This was by far the worst experience I’ve had at this store. Given my history of positive experiences, I expected better service, especially from someone in a managerial position. I hope the store takes steps to improve staff training on returns and customer service, as this incident has seriously affected my perception of Oak and Fort.

I had a wonderful experience at Oak & Fort at Sherway Gardens! First I would like to say a BIG THANK-YOU to Jared and Rachel for supporting me through the process of finding the PERFECT PANTS for work! I wasn’t having luck and I had been to almost every business casual store in the mall without finding anything that fit well! I tried Oak & Fort last and the pants fit perfectly! The AMAZING STAFF made the experience that much better! Will return once the fall collection is out to buy more work clothes! THANKS AGAIN JARED AND RACHEL! You guys are so awesome!

I was very pleased with service at this location. Despite the fact that I did not end up buying anything, Deborah was very helpful and patient, she gave good advices on how to style and wear certain items and helped me to adjust the dress. Was very attentive and remembered my name. The staff there is always very pleasant and professional. Just excellent !

The employees don’t know what they are doing. I got told I had 30 days for a full return and when I went to return something, I got told I could only get store credit or do an exchange? Very disappointing

Dear Oak & fort management,
I gifted my sister money for her birthday to shop at her favourite store, Oak & Forth. Today she left your store at the Sherway location in absolute tears. One of your associates who cashed her out, is of Asian decent, who is short and has dark brown hair treated a paying customer with the out most disrespect. This event took place on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 8:33 PM (Time stamp of her receipt)
my sister asked your associate a question about an item that she was looking for and the associate was so rude and unhelpful. When my sister kindly asked to pay cash & visa for her purchase the associate demeaned her by giving her a dirty look and told her that it was an inconvenience doing that; and made my sister feel very uncomfortable.
There was a woman\customer behind my sister with a stroller who refused to move her stroller so my sister can grab another item for purchase and the associate apologized to the customer with the stroller for the inconvenience! What?
Then, as my sister was leaving the store the associate told the other client with the stroller loud and clear “I’m so sorry for that experience” as if my sister did something wrong to either of them. My sister left crying all the way to the car!!!!
What makes this situation so much worse, was that the Oak & Forth location at Square one, offered my sister via email to come to there location and shop under the promotion of the “member exclusive offer-Oak Collective Savings event” . She opted out of going to that location because i personally recommended her to come to the Sherway location!
I regret ever recommending my sister to go shop here at this location. She is a new mom who went out for the first time without her new born to shop and spend some quality time for herself, only to be humiliated by an associate who blamed her for asking a question and for inconveniencing her to pay both in cash and Visa- SHAME ON THIS ASSOCIATE.
I am a Law student who works in the mall part time “honey” and im well aware of the expectations of providing the proper customer service to our clients. And I am utterly embarrassed and appalled that Oak & Forth employees associates with ZERO customer service skills! Shame on your company! I am never shopping at your location again!

Asked for a size M on a new arrival sweater and the response I got was “oh I think they only come in one size”. I said no (because I looked), and the girl responded “oh well we just put all the new arrivals out 1 hour ago so if it’s not there we don’t have it”……..ok so at least don’t insult my intelligence and tell me the truth; that you’re too lazy to go and check. Got it! You’re going nowhere in life

Terribly rude sales girl, I witnessed a stranger speak to my mother in a demeaning tone for the first time, it was so odd. I didn’t catch her name but she had very stark long black eyebrows. Did not buy anything from the stuff I prepared for checkout.

If you're looking for somewhat good customer service and polite retail staff I'd avoid Oak + Fort Sherway.Besides the oblig hello when you first enter, the staff here are either unhelpful/unknowledgeable at best and rude at worst. When I visited, 95% of the staff were either behind the cash register or in the back - it was hard to get anyone's attention or make eye contact. If you do manage to find a staff member to assist you, they still won't be able to help bec they've never heard of the items and won't bother looking (even though online it says Sherway has it in stock) but will instead direct you to another associate who will treat you with more disdain than a luxury high end store associate. Honestly I would somewhat understand all this if the store was busier and they were understaffed and maybe feeling stressed but neither was the case when I was there.Either order online and/or avoid this retail location as it seems like unprofessionalism isn't anything new according to other reviews on Google.

Every time I’ve been in this store, I’ve been greeted and asked if I needed assistance.I enjoy the minimalist styles and have had great experiences here.The staff are always friendly and helpful at this location. The only OAK + FORT I enjoy shopping at!

I bought my wife a pair of jeans at full price as part of her Christmas gifts & they did not fit and when we tired to return them the “manager” Bianca told us the item was on sale and we could not return it and only get store credit. I told her this could not be possible since I had paid full price. I also asked the employees about the return policy when I purchased the item and confirmed it on the receipt. Bianca did not explain why and continued to process the order as store credit. She then realized her error that we were entitled to a full refund for my money back and instead of apologizing for her mistake and Bianca tried to make it seem like she was doing us a kindness by giving us a refund. When according to store policy we were entitled to one and it had only been 5 days since I bought it with the tags on and receipt. I just think that is extremely unprofessional and just plain wrong. She was not doing us an favour by following store procedures and we shouldn’t be made to think that. My wife is so gracious she even thanked this woman. Ultimately we would have just used the store credit to get something else but the situation did not sit right with me. Since the managers can just brazenly violate store policy with no explanation we will not be returning here. Heaven forbid something does fit and we needed to exchange or return it.
