Absolutely ridiculous prices in this place. We're not talking 50-60cents price difference, but literal dollars. 3.29$ for a cucumber, 5.99$/lbs for red peppers, 3.50$ "on sale" Gold fish, which is just the regular price everywhere else. It's all insane when you can go to Giant Tiger or No Frills in Casselman. It's literally every item that is more expensive, even when on sale.
Incoming useless response from the owner acknowledging nothing, and going to continue to rip off the local community.

I like the store. I like the selections and prices my difficulties are that accessing the app while shopping are frustrating and almost impossible. You need to get better service for the clients in-store.. I've left without getting my points because of no access in app

Giant tiger was closing 1 hour earlier for a Christmas party so had to go to independent. This store is extremely expensive, even there “on sale” item are more expensive then everywhere else, price gouging 101. Never again!

Prices are very inflated. Only actual grocery store in town.
Reply: sorry enough to change your practices?

They are limited to one cash during the week, which is INSANE. Deli person doesn’t even start until 8:30am.
Prices are through the roof, it is significantly cheaper to shop in the city.
My family tries to not support this establishment.

I HAAAATE shopping here. The customer service is absolutely horrific (with the exception of a few employees who are decent). It is honestly the worst service in any grocery store in which I’ve ever shopped, and I’ve shopped in many stores in Toronto and many other places in the province.
To add insult to injury, they are often out of sale items within a day or two of the sale starting. So frustrating.
Did I mention the customer service is terrible? Completely awful. Totally dreadful. Incomparably atrocious. Yep, no kidding, that bad.

I dont usually post reviews on grocery stores but man... Everytime i go into this store i meet some of the most rude people that work there. Meat goes bad in a day even when it clearly says 5 days. Im dumb founded how this is a model for doing business. Now i know why i drive into ottawa instead of shopping in Embrun independent.

This store is a disappointment. Fresh produce is such a small section of the store, and they often don't have a good selection of staple items...couldnt even find baby carrots or a green pepper!! They carry mostly name brand (hardly any no name) and I find some of the older cashiers are terribly rude.

Bought chicken thighs on sale. Went to cook them and they were spoiled. Absolutely stank. Still had 3 days until expiry. Wanted to exchange as it was what was for supper that night and was told that all I could have is my money back and have to buy a pack at regular price.

You never know what kind of experience you will have when you walk in. Sometimes I have no issues and other times there’s a plethora of issues. I am disappointed that Instacart prices are 2x the price for this store though. It’s really not necessary.
