We have stayed in several places in the Lake of Bays / Dorset area over the years and the Bread and Butter Inn was the best. It's a bed and breakfast with beautifully styled and modernized rooms. The shared facilities are spacious and cozy at the same time. The owners are so lovely and since a former chef is providing breakfast you'll be spoiled (have the French toast!) Highly recommended.

The Bread and Butter Inn was lovely. The hosts were so accommodating. Rooms were clean, spacious and modern. The breakfasts were delicious with lots of variety. If you are visiting the Dorset area, the Bread and Butter Inn is the place to stay.

A great location to stay near in Dorset near the tower and an easy drive to Algonquin Park. Hosts were extremely kind and a pleasure to stay with. A beautiful place to stay!

This place is fantastic I would give it a 5 star because the owner is soo friendly and they try to make everything possible for you I visited this place so many times I started to call the host mum-mum, if you are visiting doorset and looking for a a great place to stay book b&b you won't regret it. Beate and Lothar are the perfect B & B hosts: always warm and social when you have the time, and equally able to silently fade into the background when you don't. Your privacy is always respected and you are made to feel like the Bread and Butter Inn is your own home. Still, if you didn't spend time with them, you would be tragically missing out. We didn't get to hear Lothar's legendary piano playing, but the stories around the bonfire and over shared snacks were a real treat. As for the Inn itself, Beate provides wonderful breakfasts, made to order and lovingly crafted, and the rooms and property are beautiful. On top of all of that, the Bread and Butter Inn is very competitively priced and excellent value for stays in the area.

My husband and I stayed in Bread&Butter for our anniversary. It is a beautiful, quiet, and cozy place. Beate, Lothar, and Lilly were excellent hosts. The house was super clean and provided breakfast was freshly made and delicious. Beate prepared a german dinner for our anniversary night, it was perfect! We would recommend this place and hopefully, come again.

What a gem of a place! A truly peaceful BnB though only minutes from Dorset. The hosts are incredibly accommodating and the breakfast provided -- with an array of choices -- is superb. A new, luxurious sauna makes this a definite win! Very recommended!

My husband and I had such a nice stay at the Inn. It is very close to Lake of Bays and Kawagama Lake so you can easily boat around at both locations. The property is so pretty with well-maintained perennial gardens everywhere. The room was fantastic; clean, cozy and quiet. The food was so delicious. I should have had the blueberry pancakes both mornings :). Best of all, Beate and Lothar were wonderful hosts and it felt like we were staying with family. We look forward to going back there in the fall!

We had a wonderful stay at BnB with our 4month old. Their breakfast was amazing and made us feel home. Though our stay was short we would definitely go back their someday

We spent last weekend at the Bread and Butter Inn and it was simply wonderful! The accommodations were modern and newly renovated, and better than most high end hotels. We stayed with our two daughters in a spacious two queen bedroom which had all the comforts you would want. The beds were comfortable and warm, the towels soft and fluffy and shampoo/conditioner/body wash provided were high quality. The hosts Beate and Lothar are phenomenal hosts and immediately made us feel welcome. I loved Beate’s sense of humour and her genuine warmth made us feel right at home. The food was also impeccable, elegantly served and absolutely delicious. Everything we ordered from the dinner menu was great and the breakfast that’s included was both delicious and generous in quantity.I would recommend this charming B&B to anyone and I’m looking forward to going back! Thank you Beate and Lothar for a memorable stay at your beautiful Inn.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Bread and Butter Inn this past weekend! Very fresh, clean and modern rooms and in a great location (just a couple of minutes from Robinson’s and Pizza on Earth!). The hosts were truly wonderful and the breakfasts were great.My wife, daughter and I definitely plan on returning! Thanks for the outstanding hospitality!
