Wanted to buy a fish for my nephews and niece's, so I took them all to Big Al's in Vaughn. We had no idea what kind of fish or tank or food we would need, but when we arrived, we met Isaiah. He showed my nephews and i around and explained every single thing we needed to know about our fish, the tank, along with care and maintenance. If it was not for Isaiah, the fish would have Died because i was likely going to overfeed it, but he told me what to do and what not ro do, and he was firm when it came to feeding portions, so i followed his advice and im happy to say that my fish is almost a year old and is healthy and the happiest fish you ever seen.Isaiah has become like a rockstar to my nephews and I. I appreciate what he did so much that i had to go back and thank him personally, this is an amazing young man that i cant say enough Good things about. There I met another Young man named Roman, he literally showed me every tank and fish in the store and explained everything about every fish he showed me. I was amazed at the amount of knowledge he has when it came to fish. Then I asked about plants and he spent almost 20 minutes showing me all the plants and again explained what they do, what they need to survive, which ones were compatible, again I was left speechless at how much he knew, it comforted me because I had so much questions since I'm new to this. I could not have asked for a kinder and knowledgeable person to get help from, I had such a great time, He totally made my experience a memorable one. Then he took me to the show room and introduced me to Ben who told me everything I needed to know about the sand and substrate I should use in my tank, again I was amazed at his knowledge and hus kindness was exceptional absolutely amazing. Last but not least the young lady's at the register had the most amazing smile and they were so kind, and the main floor helpers Gary and Jaden where so helpful and kind and knowledgeable anout everything in the show room. These are literally the kind of guys i would hang out and call them friends. Oh, and the manager in the fishroom whos name i didnt get but had a clean shaved head also gave me the most welcoming greeting while he was in the middle of helping someone as soon as i walked in and i really appreciated that. I just want to thank the Manager at Big Al's in Vaughn for hiring the most amazing team, it takes a great manager to find such great talent and help. Thank you all for my wonderful experience, its one I will always remember,and because of Isaiah, Roman,Ben,Gary,and Jaden, I will definitely be a customer as long as they work there. Thank you guys ?

My favourite Big Al's location along with the one in Thornhill. If you're already knowledgeable on fish you can get good stuff here, but the staff often don't know much about specific species. I understand that they sell such a large variety and that customers always need to do their own research first, but at least I would prefer the staff be honest and say they aren't sure than give me half-truths. Otherwise, I've had good experiences

The Location of this Big Al's Contained a variety of aquarium products and will have most of your needs. This location is getting a bad review due to one of the employees that provided poor customer service as when i was already being helped out by employee #1, employee #2 decided to go out of his way to go get the rest of my order when employee#1 was already helping me out, employee#2 did not let me pick the fish that i wanted to get and did it quickly and roughly towards the fish. I was disappointed with the service and also disappointed at the fishes he got for me.

I'm come to this place at least once a week knew alot of the staff here, then the manager got fired and they went through alot of staff. Seems like the staff there doesn't know anything about fish.Update, they've changed managers here maybe 3 or 4 times in 2 years. The management is clueless, irrational and they have more than 1 price up for the same fish in the same tank. When asked about it they will ALWAYS give you the higher price. Dead fish in tanks all day. Coral prices are just whack . Stay away from this store.

Stay a way from the Vaughn location. Widespread of Ich in their aquariums. Bought two Santa Claus Guppies before Christmas at the time I didn’t know they had Ich. Wiped out 6 fish and have to rebuild a four year tank. Very costly.
