I had a good experience buying from 401... Until I ran into a problem and had to deal with their customer support.
I bought a Pokemon TCG tin that happened to be short a couple packs. No big deal. I emailed 401 about it, they told me to get in touch with Pokemon Support. Pokemon Support then told me it was the responsibility of the retailer to give a refund/exchange in those situations. So I emailed 401 again and told them what Pokemon Support told me. No response. After a few days, I tried calling a couple times. Nobody picked up. I've just sent them a follow-up email, so hopefully this gets resolved, but I'm already frustrated about how many hoops I've had to jump through over two booster packs.
Edit: Shortly after sending the follow-up email, I received an email saying "Sorry for the wait, I'll pass this along to management."
The next day, I received an extremely defensive email, in which they insisted that the product had not been tampered with and that it was probably a manufacturing error. Fine. I never alleged anything of the sort, I was just passing along what Pokemon Support said.
In the end, they said that there was nothing they could do. So if 401 sells you a defective product, it seems they'll just shrug and say "Not our problem."
Second Edit: After posting the first edit, I disputed the transaction via Paypal. Only then did 401 get in touch with me again (different person this time, presumably the owner) to apologize for the issue and refund me the value of the missing packs. Apparently there was something they could do after all.
+1 star for actually resolving the issue in the end, but I'm very wary about buying from them in the future.

Very unsupportive and non-understanding staff especially staff lady at cash. Was looked at by staff in a confused and condescending demeanour. Not welcome to new customers, appear to only cater to those who are frequent customers or friends of the staff. Would never order from here again.

We were missing a piece from one of the games we purchased and the staff was very responsive over email. They addressed our concerns right away and shipped the missing piece. The service was excellent and efficient! 10/10 recommend

401 Games is top of mind when I think of board games. I'm Brazilian and whenever I have friends coming from the United States or Canada, it's the first store I look for. The prices are good, I've never had any problems with deliveries and their collection is huge. Perfect for those who enjoy card games too.
