Avoid at all costs.
Spent 4 nights at this hotel last weekend. The rooms had been recently renovated but the job wasn't finished -- missing lightbulbs in the lamps, almost no furniture beyond the beds, rooms smelling of wet paint, a TV that didn't work.
Other members of my sports group complained about their rooms and were assured that we would be offered discounted rates. A letter was left in my room specifying the amount of the discount ($100/night).
When checking out I was charged the full amount but the front desk staff assured me that once the manager was in they would take care of it. I've been fighting with them for the last four days to get the discount that they promised.

We came to Calabogie Peaks Hotel for a family vacation, attracted by the pool and the included breakfast.
Upon arrival, there was no one at the front desk to check us in or out. We had to go back and forth to the beach three times to get any service. The hotel is supposedly undergoing renovations, which they claimed was the reason for the lack of staff. No one told us upfront before we arrived.
On the first night, we discovered that the pool was closed for renovations, despite being full of water and appearing functional.
To top it all off, there was no included breakfast because the restaurant is closed until 11 am.
The staff was unhelpful, and we couldn't speak to a manager the entire weekend.
Regarding the condo, while it was spacious, it was not well-maintained. The deck looked old and flimsy, and it wasn't properly cleaned. My kids found lots of trash under the furniture.
I will never return to this hotel and wouldn't recommend anyone stay here.
The main reason is that the management/owners clearly do not care about their guests.

STAY ANYWHERE ELSE NEAR CALABOGIE. There are plenty of options within 5-15 minutes of the ski hill (it is not a mountain). Do not stay here. If this place was not right beside the hill I am sure that nobody would stay here. It is overpriced and underwhelming. Not to mention that you could run the risk of having no hot water in your room and nobody who would even care to help you out. We stayed here recently and had no hot water in our room (King Suite, $350/night). When we informed the attendant at the desk he said that "maybe" he could get maintenance to look at that. They never did. The next morning I went to speak to someone about it before check out and another couple was there and they had mentioned they had been trying for 3 days to get someone to look at their hot water situation as they did not have any either. The young lady at the front desk had to text her manager to get us any kind of refund and in the end the manager offered us 10%. The manager would not speak to me directly, I had to send an email to them regarding the the issue and never heard anything back. The continental breakfast was a disaster, they didnt even refrigerate the juice. This place is not worth staying at. I will never return there.Rooms: No hot water, antiquated furnishings, no phone in the rooms you need to walk down to the front desk for any help.Noteworthy details: Zero customer service. Do not stay here, this place is awful

The room was kinda nice did not have a microwave. There was a fridge as advertised. The Wi-Fi was so terrible in our room. We couldn’t watch YouTube the TV had no cable channels. The continental breakfast was terrible. The cream cheese sat out all night was basically Not edible. all they had was bagels and prepackaged English muffins. My buddy had a shower and there was no hot water, absolutely not a positive experience. It was nice that it was close to the ski hill so I could get hammered at the bar before going to my room but it was still not a positive experience. For 50 bucks less a person we could’ve driven 30 minutes last night and 30 minutes in the morning which would’ve been worth it Definitely not paying this much for this place againFood & drinks: The continental breakfast that is included is terrible. It’s not hot and not worth it.Noteworthy details: Little bit of a scam, overhyped breakfast skiing is pretty good though

Be WARNED, check in time ends at 10pm. We arrived around 10:30pm to find the reception desk and the hotel empty. There was an after hours number posted, but no one answered. We stayed for 45 minutes, walking around the hotel, looking for staff and calling the after hours number. Neither myself nor the Expedia rep could get a hold of anyone. We ended up driving an hour to find a different hotel where the concierge laughed at my story. Neither one of us had previously heard of a hotel that ends check in at 10pm, nor one that leaves their guests stranded overnight.I requested a refund the night of our arrival, October 4th. After attempting to contact the hotel and following up with Expedia five times over the course of two months (Expedia also couldn't reach the hotel during this time), I finally received a reply today (December 1st) that Calabogie Peaks had refused to provide any sort of refund, discount or credit.I hope you make some much needed changes to your policies.

Caveat emptor - The Resort is a Lie!tl,dr: Do not stay here in the summer, there is no resort, the place is a shambles. It started the day before we checked in- I was browsing the website we used to book the hotel to see if our unit had a washing machine (it didn’t), and came across dozens of new, negative reviews. My wife and I, generally positive people who make the best of any situation, disregarded them (mistake #1). “We will barely stay in our room, we’ll be at the beach, pool and resort!” (Mistake #2).As we drove up to the “resort”, we admired the surroundings and hyped ourselves and kids up. As we got closer the GPS sent us past what looked like a hotel area with golf course and straight into some kind of construction. This wasn’t on the hotel but they can get Google to fix this. We circled back and decided to checkout the area that was labeled “Calabogie Peaks Resort” instead of “Calabogie Peaks Hotel” to figure out where to go. It turned out that- gasp- they were the same (Surprise #1).We headed inside and checked in- we were staying in one of the condos so we got our keys and bracelets for the “resort” and went to our room. Staff was very nice and accommodating. They did inform us that that the hot tub - a big selling point for our family - was closed. For…reasons. Apparently it’s been closed since the pandemic, but the pool is open? The hot tub is outside. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯I started to bring our stuff up and had to pause as the floor just outside our condo was littered with bird poop and dead bugs. Kind of gross and unsanitary, but we forge on…Our condo itself was decent. It was fairly clean and had a lot of supplies - so good job there. We would learn the next morning that the cleanliness was really surface level- as we found several dirty dishes, and the coffee maker still had used coffee grinds in it, and the carafe hadn’t been cleaned out. No big deal, really, but starting to paint a picture. The AC was also quite good on the first floor but didn’t make its way upstairs. We were finally settled in and ready for dinner. The restaurant at the hotel was closed so we went to the Redneck Bistro- highlight of our trip to Calabogie. On the way back from dinner we decided to swing by the “Resort” and see what it was like- except we couldn’t find it. We did see a small beach with a few boats to use. This is when we started to think we had made a mistake. We went to bed, and got up ready for breakfast. We made our way to the main building to the breakfast room. ? This was the beginning of the end for us. There was cold waffles, bread, oatmeal packets, yogurt and some pre-made breakfast sandwiches in the fridge. This was perhaps the saddest hotel breakfast I’ve ever seen. At this point why offer it unless it’s to be able to say “Free Breakfast” on your website to attract guests - which seems to fit with the theme of this entire establishment. We took a few waffles for the kids and headed out for breakfast elsewhere - this was our own mistake because there were literally no options - anywhere. Ok, yogurt it is. We then we’re looking to go on a hike, but wanted to grab some water before we went (the water in our room didn’t taste great). I assumed the gym might have a water dispenser, so we went there. It DID have a water dispenser but it was unplugged. We happened to spot the pool for the first time then- and that was the end. It was murkier than the lake.We went to the front desk and said we were dissatisfied and wanted to cancel the rest of our trip. The staff seemed completely unsurprised, and let us cancel. We quickly packed up, and headed home.

I would not recommend this to anyone. We were here for 2 nights. Our room didn’t have shampoo, we asked and they said that they are out of shampoos. No food nearby. Only one restaurant in the hotel that to open at 3. Their breakfast is all frozen things kept. If your restaurant open at 3. At least give some proper breakfast like scrambled eggs . Weird smell in elevator. Bug was in our room. Not clean. They have good location but not managed properly. Not happy

Checked in, hotel is tired and tub drain must be partially clogged seeing after a few minutes in the shower you’re standing in a pool of water. Also TV was not operational, was told to unplug it to reset the Roku box. Didn’t work and they had no solutions….won’t be back based on the price we paid.

Stayed here with my partner for our first wedding anniversary over Thanksgiving weekend. Kimberley was a wonderful host and the complimentary lift passes were a nice touch. Unfortunately like most of the village, the restaurant is closed Mondays and Tuesdays which doesn't leave too many food options. The restaurant was also booked solid our first night there, which was our mistake for not booking! Would have been nice to have some food options available, even if it was just something to microwave in the room, some cold plates like charcuterie or crudite, or even a vending machine. Other that that we had a great time hiking in the area and relaxing by the fire.

Beautiful grounds and magnificent experience. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the pool and hot tub are closed due to Covid-19. The beach is great and we took the kayaks and paddle boards out. It’s raining now, we plan on taking a hike later to eagles nest. Will let you know more once we leave.
