Brought my car in for safety. Which my car did not pass because they pointed out stupid things that were easily fixable and non needed for the car such as anything to do with emissions which is no longer required for safety. This shop also told me my car was leaking oil when it was not and just had an oil change yesterday. I paid $180 just for them to look at it and waste my time to tell me that it didn't pass and it would never pass... if I bring it back they said it would be $180 plus whatever on top for the safety if passed absolute bs! Staff is also extremely disrespectful and in youre face know it all! DO NOT BRING YOURE CAR HERE!!! ???

Absolutely horrific service. I came in for a simple oil change and was told 30 minutes. Service took over an hour to complete with 0 explanation why or an apology for wasting my time. More than 5 staff standing around with 1 other car being serviced. At the end one employee comes up asking for a signature on the invoice with no apology or explanation for their pathetic and horrific customer service.

Terrible experience when the whole fishing section is behind lock and key wasting my time. Takes over 20 minutes to grab a pack of hooks wasting the customers time. No reason grabbing a pack of hooks should take more than 5 minutes. Recommend they remove the locks because it’s ridiculous .

Went to the store the other day to purchase a locking mechanism for my trailer that I had seen online and that they had in stock in this store. Upon arriving to the store, I found the product and realized there was only two items left in stock and both boxes were beyond recognizable. I proceeded to go to customer service and had a manager come to speak with me about getting a discount on the damaged packaged product. I feel as though when you're buying a new product the packaging is paid for within the cost and should be intact or at least recognizable. With the rude and demeaning tone I was told everything was there and it's just the packaging. I tried to explain my side in that you're paying for the packaging as well as the product and she could not grasp that concept and just continue to keep telling me that she wasn't forcing me to buy it and that I could go to another store and get one in a better package if I wanted to. I just don't feel like customer should be sent store to store because the manager does not think that putting out acceptable products is necessary. I was very calm and polite through all this and was talk to rudely in brushed off. I will also be contacting head office to bring up this individual.

Bowmanville Canadian Tire is great. Super helpful, friendly staff. Needed a part for my car that was not in stock. They ordered it and got it for me same day. No one else I. Town could do the same.

I recently had a very disappointing experience at Canadian Tire. I spent $50 on two small, overpriced items and was treated like a criminal by store security. After making my purchase, the security person demanded to check my backpack, despite me refusing and asserting my rights. When I asked if I was being detained or if there was any proof that I had stolen something, he said no but continued to pressure me to show my backpack. This stressful encounter lasted around 10 minutes.
In the end, I left, telling him he could call the police if he felt the need. I understand that shoplifting is a serious issue, and I don't mind the inconvenience of asking for assistance to unlock items. However, being harassed and treated like a criminal after spending money in the store is unacceptable. (Without any proof of shoplifting)
I carry a small backpack with my credit cards, documents, and an EpiPen, which is why I refused to open it. What's frustrating is that I entered the store twice within 15 minutes without any issues from security. He could refuse my entrance 2 times but allowed me to go in.
Canadian Tire, by treating good customers like criminals, you're driving them away. The result? Honest customers will go to Amazon, while shoplifters will continue to target your stores. It's sad to see a trusted retailer treating customers this way.

I have recently visited the Bowmanville store on a few occasions. Before that, I hadn't been in Canadian Tire store for a long time and was reluctant shop there again. I needed to purchase a battery charger and didn't want to wait for delivery so I headed to my nearest Canadian Tire store in Bowmanville. I noticed immediately that this store in particular was operating efficiently with happy staff that were eager to help me find what I was looking for. I was in and out in a couple minutes, a happy customer. I needed some more items for my trailer and car washing supplies since. Every time I visit, the staff has been extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and delightful to talk to. I can't speak for the other Canadian tires, but this Canadian Tire in Bowmanville is outstanding. Hats off to the managers that have created a fun, healthy work environment for the staff. I will definitely be back before purchasing something online.

A very terrible experience today@5;30pm I walked into the store I first passed the security guard who did not say anything to me. As soon as I pass through the Gates at front a Manager passes me by and turns to me and asks If that is a backpack. (I do wear it on my back but it's a purse)I told him it was my purse. He then proceeds to tell me they will be checking once I am leaving the store. I told him not without an F-ing warrant. This manager then tells me I have to leave. trying to force me out the way I came in He said because I swore at him I was excluded from the store To which I replied I would like that in writing then I ask for his name and ID but he refused to provide me with any info. He and the security guard escorted me to the front desk where I once again asked for the info I requested. Once again he refused and told me to leave and go to the police. The security guard asked me to leave politely, so I did. When I asked the guard if I was banned from the store he said NO He pointed at the sign where it said backpacks are not allowed. Canadian Tire You should be ashamed of your manager. I am 50+ I have no reason to steal I wear my purse over my back because of medical reasons It is so small I can only fit my wallet, hair brush and a bottle of water cell phone. If you start treating everyday people as criminals That's all you will be left with. I understand your policy But pick your battles I went to WALMART to buy my coffeemaker. sadly you will never have my business again. Canadian is truly not Canada's store......

Before entering Canadian tire I went to Walmart next door to purchase some cleaning supplies that I had popped in at the bottom of my stroller. As my daughter was still napping, I decided to take a walk at Canadian tire. As I entered, I was greeted by a friendly gentleman. I took a walk around the patio furniture for maybe about 5 minutes then Decided to leave. As a checkout line was very long, I asked the greeter for another way out. The greeter kindly showed me another exit towards customer service. As I was leaving the store, I smiled at the customer service rep & and passed the security guard. As I'm halfway through the parking lot, I heard the security guard yelling " excuse me, excuse me!" The security guard approached me and asked me for my receipt for the cleaning supplies I had at the bottom of my stroller. Luckily I still had my Walmart receipt with me. However, this was beyond embarrassing to be approached halfway through the parking lot in front of everyone. There was no probable cause for anyone to approach me for stealing. Furthermore, if they did, truly think I was stealing, I should have been approached before I left the store rather than being chased down in the parking lot, especially for $10 worth of Cleaning products. I am again beyond embarrassed and I'm taking this to head office. I hope this store can educate their employees on how to handle these situations appropriately. I will be never shopping here again and definitely not buying my patio furniture from here either.
